Got into Prince when I was 9 years old, was into Mike even before that. I just kinda progressed from there I owe a lot to the old school funk heads here, they hipped me to a lot of great bands It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

You should enjoy klymaxx, the isleys but the crown jewels
of that group should be the brothers johnson blam album and the soundtrack to shaft. Man you have got to check out that 19 minute version of do your thing. Isaac and his rhythmn section wreck the hell out of that song. I also dig Ellie's theme, regio cafe, no name bar, soulvile, etc. That is one of the best soundtrack albums of all time. When i was a little boy i would sneak in the living room after my dad went to work to listen to his shaft album. It brings back memories whenever i listen to it. Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

I'd love that none of my friends possess this hobby so I'm always alone when I'm digging ONCE when I was up to DC... a friend of mines took me to this spot and we both dug for hours HE actually stumbled upon the Prince, Dirty Mind, Controversy 1999, and the first The Time album and gave them to me (I'm assuming he had them already) because it was DOG EAT DOG LOL we both saw Chaka Khan's Echoes Of An Era record and both dived for it OMG that was so funny LOL he was really sweet, but he was NOT letting go of that EOAE.. he had specific ones he was diggin for me on the other hand I was just AMAZED at all the boxes and boxes and rows & rows of albums first thing I spotted was the self titled Rufus/Chaka Khan album (PINKY) hanging on the wall I went to the clerk and I said "I MUST HAVE IT... can you get it down for me?" he said "it's just the cover" I said... "oh." they even had mint condition stuff still in shrink wrap (for higher prices of course) ones I remember seeing were The Family (which sold for like $20 bucks... mint) the Bootsy's Rubber Band Player Of The Year? album (and had I known it was THE album that had the punch out sunglasses enclosed I woulda snatched that sucka! it's extremely rare you find one of those with the sunglasses in tact) I saw Minnie's Stay In Love album (mint) I forget the name of that place but it's in Sliver Springs, MD there was so much to choose from I'm sure I had precum in my drawers when I left there (LMAO) thanx to everybody that came stopped by this thread @phunkdaddy - I'll be sure & check for those tracks you mentioned I think I heard the full DYT before always loved it! because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

*Correction* No, child. HIS ass is the lucky one I rarely stumble on deals like his whenever I go wrecka huntin'. [Edited 5/23/08 8:23am] hey sissy do you KNOW that in about 45 minutes there will be an auction taking place at da wrecka stow (which is actually a 2 story flea market) and the guy told me to be sure & have my ass there today because they're letting BOXES of albums go for $5 a piece... BOXES he went on to say you can fit 100+ albusm in one box so aaaaall that shit they got upstairs I could be digging through and composing my own box for $5 and guess what... I don't have $5 *falls to the groudn in a screaming kicking tantrum* I spent my last $10 earlier today for lunch oh well... I've got mostly what I want from there already I was just gonna compose myself a nice box of my favorite musicians like they have beaucoup Earl Klugh and George Benson stuff I was gonna get as many of em as I could find I could kick myself in the ass why didn't I just starve for lunch because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."
