This list is BS
Prince is not even in the Top Five?
Prince's range and use of his voice as an instrument is outstanding.
Mary J. Blige ??? I don't think she even believes she should be
that high.
Christina Aguilera does have an incredible voice. I would not put
Michael Jackson in the Top Five but in the Top Ten.

Even trying to rank the Top 50- what are the criteria?
Then maybe I could rank them but voices are such individual instruments
and sometimes it's the material that helps or hurts a singer.
I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

Prince should be in the top 5 but Michael jackson shouldn't? Michael Jackson is a much better singer then Prince.

Oh, I'm not trying to make it one, it's just a really odd statement. On a technical level Michael Jackson is a better singer. Of course Michael should be higher on this kind of list. I know people can have a different opinion on whos voice they like better but this is not that kind of list. On a personal level I like Madonnas voice better then Christina's but I'd be crazy to say Madonna should be higher on this list then Christina.

We agree but I rate Prince's innovative use of his instrument over Michael's technical performance.

9. Avril Lavigne (+44.1)
17. Alanis morissette (+35)
31. Ashanti (+18.8)
35. Kylie Minogue (+9.8)

there are plenty of wtf's on here (and plenty missing) but these pretty much sum up why this list is crap.

was this voted on by fans? readership? this is on par with NME readers naming the Arctic Monkeys' debut something like the #3 British album of all time 2 weeks after it was released. Except worse.
"Try to remember how you used to feel about me
and think about how you're treating me now.
Then try to reconcile them, if you can.
But you don't even remember, do you?"

Although it´s nice to see Mike almost at the top, this chart makes no sense to me. I can´t believe that whiny Iglesias is at number 13.
"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

Yeah. Almost as bad as when "Take That" were voted best live act over Muse. WTF?
Kylie Minoque isnt a vocalist - she's a disgrace!

I hope whoever made that list wasn't serious. First of all, they should have made two separate lists: one for the guys and for the ladies. I don't understand how you can compare a males voice to a females, or a group for that matter. Make 2 different lists.

Second, the order of the list and the exclusion of several people is just ridiculous. Lavigne, the 9th best vocalist in the world?..How can Usher and Ruben Studdard sit at No.10 and No. 48 respectively while Luther Vandross, Sam Cooke, George Michael, Prince, or Tevin Campbell are nowhere to be seen. Amerie infront of Toni Braxton? This lists is just fuckin silly.

DO OVER!

Many laughable ratings on this list, but lemme just highlight a few:

1. Christina Aguilera Oversings everything.

13. Enrique Iglesias falloff Performed live on Stern a few years back, to dispel rumors that he couldn't sing. He can't.

18. Faith Hill falloff Saw her sing on some awards show and she was flat the whole way through.

38. Chad Kroeger spit You're fuckin' kiddin' me, right? falloff

..uh i see 50 names, but where are the 50 TOP singers names' cause nowhere on this list do i see Chaka, .. some of the singers on that list sing off key when singing live too...and now i just pulled up the other 50 names of that list and STILL no Chaka's name there.. i do see Kelly Price, but look where they put her.. disbelief and that's one person there who should have been in the top 5
