and at first listen the self titled one
might turn you off from overproduction
but I love every minute of it today

is after the third bridge

covering most of this album too
it's from a few years ago...
some lil jazz event she was doin at the time

the live version of "High Wire"
is to die for...
she sounds just as she did
decades ago

I find it interesting how much she resented her musical career because it wasn't "jazzy" enough and then really the only thing you can point to she did other than this is classikhan which is just trash Hopefully she appreciates the Rufus years and can see those dudes knew exactly how to showcase her talent.

as far as FULL jazz projects, though, you're right
BUT she did manage to sprinkle most of her 80's work
with a jazz cover here or there

you can tell she really enjoyed
the making of "A Night In Tunisia"
and "Be Bop Medley"..
you can HEAR IT... how happy she was
it was like a burden had been lifted
off of her shoulders with her
newfound creative freedom...
