lol For real, that is one I would love to hear.

I would DIE if Janet did ANY song from her first two albums. But I've read that she doesn't like that period in her recording career because her father had a lot of control in her life. neutral

She probably said that over ten years ago. Wouldn't you have some sort of new perspective on that era by now?

She even acknowledges that the song "Control" doesn't mean the same to her now.

i wonder if those messages will be heard and actually tallied, or will she just perform what she wants to. always a little skeptic about call ins and votes.

"so you guys called in and wanted to hear "Control" well here it is!"
a guaranteed round of applause from the audience. lol

lol I'm sure.

sad They don't have the Fort Lauderdale date on Ticketmaster yet. When it comes up, I'm soo going to that one. Much closer than Atlanta for me. Why do the CitiBank Card holders get first dibs? That's straight up bullshit right there. My credit card has money on it, but because it's not CitiBank, I'm assed out. Fuck a CitiBank!!! hmph!

Janet Cancels European Tour

June 11, 2008
Link

Janet Jackson has reportedly scrapped any plans to hit Europe with her forthcoming tour following her record label's decision to cease promoting her latest album.

Jackson was due to play a series of live dates across Europe after embarking on her first series of concert shows for seven years in the U.S. and Canada, with her first gig in Vancouver, Canada on 10 September.

However, the singer has now decided to just dedicate herself to the North American leg of her tour, citing frustration with her Def Jam label bosses' lack of support in promoting her new album.

"Feedback,” the first single off Discipline, which has sold 392,000 copies in the United States according to Billboard.com, reached No. 39 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Hip-Hop Songs chart.

The original quote from Janet about visiting Europe:

"I just want to let the fans know because I've been reading a lot what the bloggers have been saying about the record and not hearing it on the radio and stuff like that, so I just wanted to let them know where things were as well and where it was all coming from. I've heard people talking about me not coming to Europe in support of the record just to let them know that it was definitely in my heart to go to Europe and to support this album but it's about teamwork, it's not something I can totally do on my own. Unfortunately things have turned out the way that they have with the differences between the label and myself, which we have been having for the most part from the beginning. So I just want to tell them again thank you very much for all the love and all the support and I they understand the entire situation and I'm really excited to see everybody on tour. I'm really looking forward to that it's going to be a lot of fun."

As you can see, this has absolutely nothing to do with the tour. She is talking about the European promotional tour for the album, which requires label support. The label has nothing to do with the tour, however. I wish people would actually read quotes and try to understand them before randomly inserting them into articles and claiming it as truth. Janet has said nothing about Europe for this tour, and I'm not sure how a tour can be "cancelled" if no dates have even been scheduled for Europe in the first place.

your correct she was referring to the promotional dates when the album was first released... not the Tour

This is a great example of the lazy/dumb as hell media. If everyone is claiming Janet won't do a real tour in Europe based on that quote...Holy crap!

flop or not, its a fantastic record. besides, touring is what you should do to support a record, lol. didn't madonna stage one of the most successful tours of her career after the biggest flop of her career?

sometimes ya gotta work to sell a record. shrug

there's never been a lot of fanfare preceding janet's tours.

she announces it, she disappears during rehearsals, then she goes on tour.

eventually she gets ill, ends up in a hospital for a a few days with a bunch of resceduled dates. lol then she comes back and finishes the tour.

Janet's fans don't care about posting a new thread every time she farts at rehearsal. If you want to read that sort of thing, I suggest you head to Janet Xone.

Like clockwork.

So still hasn’t added NYC dates yet, huh? Maybe she’ll swing by at the end of the tour. Hopefully by then I’ll have gotten some reviews.
