SUMMER JAMS/ALBUMS! It's GREAT weather here in mid-Europe! We tan, we swim, we drink rosé!
And I love to whip out that summer music! Whenever temps run high, I crace Sheila E's Romance 1600 (esp A Love Bizarre, but the entire album will do) and Cameo's Word Up and Candy remix. I also love the mellow moods of Buena Vista Social Club and Gloria Estefan's Mi Tierra, what I think is her best album EVER. These are albums and songs that set the mood just right for me. What are YOUR summer jams?

the new Madonna album is shaping up to be a great summer album, if it can manage to hold my attention for the whole season. it's already waning a bit, i think. speaking of Madonna, i can hardly listen to Justify My Love during the summer. it's already hot enough and this the audio equivalent of what heat waves look like coming off of hot asphalt.
i always end up listening to Madonna during the summer. and Prince. lots of Prince. for some reason, it's always one of these 2 that occupies my entire summer. "Try to remember how you used to feel about me
and think about how you're treating me now. Then try to reconcile them, if you can. But you don't even remember, do you?"

But ALL Dutch are wanka's, obviously. We're not north. We're not south. We're not west or east. That's the fucking middle even if the center is REALLY big. Like Aksel's ego.
And ALL the people in the park were drinking rosé. So shut up and go back under the rock you crawled from. Bitches.

I played the hell out of this album every summer since it came out. Love it. And also Carlos Vives' Dejame Entrar and Juanes' Mi Sangre.

Other Prince . . . (Can usually find Prince for any day of the week except the Sabbath. [The Cross, The Word, God, . . ] Whatever's spinning on the I-Pod. I just learned it wasn't blasphemous to forward past a track I wasn't feeling at the moment. [Edited 5/19/08 17:26pm] I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.
