Lyfe Jennings new cd/dvd

An excellent album Dude went totally against your typical run of the mill formula and just did him. Positive music is coming back mainstream. And it doesn't hurt that he changed management from Alicia Keys manager to Mathew Knowles. Sold a very respectful 80,000 units in the first week. The dvd is cool too. Live in concert. Check it out. Has anyone else heard it?

Hmm, I have mixed feelings about Lyfe Jennings. I love positive music, and I do love his song "Must Be Nice" off his last album, but his voice literally makes me want to vomit. He sounds like he is on the toilet having a bowel movement. I don't know why i feel this way because I want to like him, but I just can't help it. confused
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Dude seems to be a decent songwriter but damn i don't want to stomach
someone who sings like they are taking a crap on the toilet bowl.

I feel u guys. He is a good songwriter, but he is too "gutter" for my taste. I didn't get the last album (Phoenix), but I didn get the debut. I liked about 4 songs. I haven't heard the entire new album, but the trax I've heard sound ok. I think Matthew is trying to market him to a mature crowd....not just to a ghetto crowd. Don't be surprised if Beyonce or Jay-Z doesn't show up on a remix of one of the trax.

I mean yeah, I don't get his singing style at all. Sometimes he sounds like a woman (more like Etta James) then other times he sounds gritty growly like, almost like a nastier Bobby Womack type sound (at from the topics of Womack lately on this site, it seems the man himself is just nasty).
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Someone needs to get his ass off the toilet bowl and into
the studio when he records music.
