Yea, D'angelo was a damn waste of talent, the way he let his career fall, just when he was getting hot. That's why I really can't compare him to Prince. No focus, can't play a kick ass Guitar solo, & is not that hot of a dancer! But hey, different strokes I guess..

You can't blame D'Angelo for taking a page out of Prince's book early in his career... he was, or hopefully still is, on a path to something unique and special himself... learning from the legends is all part of that.

Whether or not that is going to happen is a different deal, but after a long hiatous a compilation might be released several months (or a year) before a new full-length will be out just to get the name back on the record store shelves and some chart listings.

Oh yeah, I've gotta say the "sexy" album cover photo is a bit too much considering what the artist in question most likely looks these days. Sure you can use non-recent photos to accompany non-recent recordings, but in this case I'd have to wonder whether D'Angelo himself feels all too comfortable about these kind of things anymore.
