This girl did MOR ballads better then Mariah. Seriously Mariah's oversinging ruins songs. Jennifer knows her range, and stays within it. No showboating shit here...

Shame the song/album did nothing. But the production is on the nice side of MOR, but without Celine or Mariah shouting through them. Overlooked song/album...

Yes, Mariah has an amazing voice, but she shows it off way too often. Iam not fussed about how many octaves a singer can hit (look at opera singers for some hardcore singing), and infact, voice doesn't really affect me much at all. But to give Jennifer credit, she has a decent (if limited) voice, and is quite pure to my ears. Actually Mimi's voice has diminished greatly over the years. She often sounds flat to me and resorts to the annoying whispery, breathy voice instead of the deeper voice she typically used 10 years ago. However, she still sings circles around the current crop of pretenders and can sho nuf write some songs. So she's still my guhl.

Anyway, not hatin' on Mariah, but her oversinging annoys me, and I thought it would be nice if a few of you would give Jennifer a chance. I bet Dewrede was the only one who even bothered to hear it (thanx Derede). Jennifer was indeed in the Bolton/Carey/Dion mode of MOR with some of her album, but its very good in places. Worth a listen if you like early Mariah.

Other than the high notes, I think Mariah has a very average voice.
