Damn! I knew CalhounSq was shady but, I thought we were cool!

I actually met him last year when he came to New York to play at B.B. King's Club. He was very kind enough to sign my "Jungle Floor" CD. I told him I liked it better than the first one, well, because I did.

thekidsgirl ain't jiving: Van Hunt is a sweetheart. I should've told him about the other underrated Soul man of the 21st century though: Jamie Lidell. A collaboration would be guaranteed FUNK!

I did have a nice long chat with his guitarist, Paisley. He was cool dude too. I told him that he had the spirit of Eddie Hazel. It turns out that him and Eddie were actually buddies. They both friggin' rocked!!!

Geez, I'm sounding like Zelaira here.

The first time I met him he was nice enough to sign my ticket stub. Plus I went up to hug him twice (the second time he looked at me, smiled, and said "hey, I remember you...you were just here" and he laughed and hugged me anyway)

His whole band/ crew is really cool

NWF, do you know his assistant's (?) name...the guy with the locs that sets up his stuff...

Also, I'm glad you mentioned Jamie Lidell...I've heard of him and have been meaning to cheak out his music. Where should I begin??

I wanted to ask him about the album release, but my friend thought that might be a 'touchy subject'....she also suggested that we not scream out for him to play SNM during the show

Me and my chick saw him here in Atlanta and got to meet him after the show. We actually did talk to him about Popular and he was cool about it and very honest. He didn't talk shit but he didn't sugarcoat either.

Funny that you got a pic of him without the bandanna because I was asking him about it it...I joked that he reminded me of Garth Brooks in that I'd never seen a pic of him WITHOUT the had! Great guy, great musician. I hope he keeps on keeping on.

Basically that Blue Note didn't want to spend what he thought was a reasonable amount of money on promotion and then when they severed ties, that they also chose not to sell him the masters to the album at a price he could afford, effectively shelving it.

He said it probably won't ever come out officially but that he's gonna release another record, a book, and a DVD this year. The guy really works for his fans!
