I grew up listening to Lisa Lisa and Paula Abdul, but I would have to say for singer Lisa Lisa, and Paula Abdul for dancer.

Lisa Lisa had less hits but they were more memorable and came before Paula's. Lisa Lisa was no doubt an influence on that first album!

I saw forget both and Samantha Fox forever!

Definately, Lisa Lisa. I am a big fan of Full Force and enjoyed the music Lisa Lisa did with them.

Here is a list of Lisa Lisa's hits...

"I Wonder If I Take You Home"(1985)
"Can You Feel The Beat"(1985)
"All Cried Out"(1986)
"Head To Toe"(1987)
"Lost In Emotion"(1987) (Number One Pop Hit)
"Someone To Love Me For Me" with Full Force (1987)
"Everything Will B-Fine"(1987)
"Little Jackie Wants To Be A Star"(1989)
"Just Git It Together" (1989)
"Kiss Away Your Tears"(1989)
"Let The Beat Hit Em" (1991)
"Skip To My Lu"(Lisa Lisa solo)(1994)

Here is a list of Paula Abdul's hits...

"Knocked Out"(1988)
"The Way That You Love Me"(1988)
"Straight Up"(1989)(Number One Pop Hit)
"Forever Your Girl"(1989)
"Cold Hearted"(1989)
"Opposites Attract"(1989)
"Rush,Rush"(1991)
"The Promise Of A New Day"(1991)
"Blowing Kisses In The Wind"(1992)
"Vibeology"(1992)
"Will You Marry Me"(1992)
"My Love Is For Real"(1995)

Basically,in terms of actual "hits",I'd say they're about even (I think they both have Grammys too). Both of their first two albums did extremely well but unfortunately, their third albums had disappointing sales and seemingly, they both just stopped making music altogether.

She did a solo album in 1994 but as far as I know, she hasn't released any other albums. However, she is now into acting, appearing on some cable TV sitcom (can't remember the name, but she plays a mother).

No way in hell were these songs hits...I dont even know about that last song...Whats considered a hit? Something that was released as a single?

I remember the publicity referencing how Vibeology flopped big time (party because of her ghastly MTV Award performence of the song).

I gotta admit,I was just listing all the songs that were released as singles.I don't know how those songs did on the charts, but I do remember "Vibeology" getting alot of attention back in '92.

Here we go again;

Lisa Lisa and her cult jam crew with, I Wonder If I take You Home (the jam of my freshman year in college), Head To Toe, All Cried Out, etc.

or

Miss American Idol Paula Abdul with her Straight Up self, Cold Hearted Snake, Hush Hush etc. (no extra points for recording a Prince track)

Paulas song was Rush Rush, not Hush Hush ... smile

But i have to go with Lisa Lisa.. I loved Paula Abdul, but there is something about Lisa Lisa's music that reminds me of when i was a teenager hanging out at the park...

That is definitely complicated. I wouldn't consider "Will You Marry Me?" a hit since it didn't even make Paula's hits CD (although a ton of other songs did which I don't think were even singles!) but would consider 1996's "Crazy Cool" a hit since the video got a ton of play! Also, I don't remember "Kiss Your Tears Away" or "Skip To My Lu" at all. Its all very confusing!

Many times, those hits compilations leave out songs that were actually released as "singles" and,as you pointed out, they sometimes add songs that were NOT singles...lol...don't know why they do this.

I don't rememeber the "Crazy Cool" song by Paula. The Lisa Lisa song "Kiss Your Tears Away" was the third single from Lisa's third album 'Straight To The Sky'(1989).In 1994,she made a solo album and "Skip To My Lu" was the first single.
