I have all pretty much all of Jimi's cd's and I don't have that demo. You can hear it here. I love the guitar tone on this. http://www.youtube.com/wa...idr6TbfvYc "The first time I saw the cover of Dirty Mind in the early 80s I thought, 'Is this some drag queen ripping on Freddie Prinze?'" - Some guy on The Gear Page

oh definitely...i agree (with the original post AND with the ^^"1983 (a merman..." track ^^too ...
"Drifting" is one of my ALL time favorites by Jimi (or anyone for that matter), and yeah it doesn't come up as often as his other more famous songs when folks speak of Jimi's greatness, so i think it's definitely underrated in that regard. It's simply sublime. When i make mixtapes to introduce folks to Jimi I always put "Drifting" first and they are just blown away by its beauty... I think when general public 'generally speaking' thinks of Jimi. they think of 'loud, electrified, explosive' etc...but for me, while i LOVE that explosive side of Jimi too, I was also JUST as amazed by his subtlety, introspectiveness and gentile elements...wether he was loud or quiet, he was ALWAYS raw and honest and fearless & naked in his music...thats what makes it so special, thats what i love about it... "Hey Baby/New Rising Sun" is another one that does it for me every time, but isn't quite as famous in the general public. "Axis: Bold As Love" too "Wait Till Tomorrow" always gets me going as well, and it's not mentioned as much as some of his other more well known tunes... Ah Jimi...what can you say about Jimi...he's a force of nature...a force of the musical universe... . [Edited 4/20/08 11:51am]
