I read a bad review in the Chicago Tribune of Leona which caused me to go to YouTube yesterday and listen to Bleeding Love. --- AND I FELL IN LOVE WITH IT.

I though it was moving and sad and haunting and she is a classic beauty. razz

I'm definitely going to get her album and I hope to hear many more heart wrenching songs from her...

I heard this song for the first time last night, and I kind of liked it a lot a little bit.

It has potential to wow me after a few listens, but as for the first time, I wasn't WOWED by it, considering all the hype.

I listened to her European release of that album (which has been out since November 2007), and while I thought she has an excellent voice and could easily become this generation's Whitney Houston or Mariah Carey, the album lacked uptempo tracks and could become a snoozefest for some listeners. bored However, the American release has substituted two different songs which are both more uptempo; one which is in tune to the usual hip-hop/R&B tracks on US radio, and the second which is a pure dance track. It's a nice, solid debut, but I'm curious to see if her second album shows the same type of growth that Kelly Clarkson had on her second album.

I don't get the hype - her voice is very average, the song is just okay. The hoopla has to be more about her look than her music, which is SO like the industry these days hammer

I think she has shyness issues. On X Factor, her shyness was crippling. She could barely speak and she looked really afraid whenever the crowd cheered.

I really like "Bleeding Love", but I don't like how some printed text have referred to her as being better than Mariah Carey or comparing her to Mariah...uh, noo. confused So she can hit a high note, so can lots of singers, many of who aren't getting record deals. She's a good singer, but she's not Mariah, Whitney, Celine, hell even Shanice IMO. She's good, but she's not that damn good.

It's all gravy though, Simon Cowell will make sure his protege goes platinum. nod

you are a 100000% right... i think she is overrated.. because of her beauty... i heard simon cowell hype her up.. about her voice being better then mariah and whtiney.. so i finally heard her voice and was NOT impressed.. but that is just me...

but she is one gorgeous girl... and many people would be interested just because of her looks

Those saying she's overrated, have you checked out her performance of I Will Always Love You. She sounds exactly like Whitney.

I wouldn't judge her voice on a pop hit, it has been toned down a bit for the song.

Check out some of her X Factor performances on youtube, the hype is justified, even if her damn debut album sucks biggrin

I listened to her rendition of I Will Always Love You before I heard Bleeding Love this weekend.

And that struck me as mimicry. It was not impressive... I in fact was ready to dismiss her as a copycat pretender until I heard Bleeding Love and I thought ...ok, she can have her own personality.

i dont' care if she sounds like mariah and whitney singing at the same time lol

she has Zero personality.. and doesn't have anything special about her as an artist...

she is overrated... but she is gorgeous nod

she will fad away in the music industry and be forgotten... she may have a singing gift.. BUT. .that doesn't mean she is going to use it well....

She's exactly the type of artist that these reality "talent" shows produce- sculpted and molded into something that won't offend anyone and possessing a technically solid, melismatic voice that belts out lyrics that have no meaning or personality.
