Rock N Roll Hall of Fame 2009

I have a tshirt made that says "THE BAR-KAYS" on the front and
"Future Rock N Roll Hall of Fame" on the back of it. It has one of the COOLEST BAND SHOTS EVER:
1981 album "Nightcruising"...front and back sleeve....I AM SO FUNKY..... woot!

I am one of the biggest barkays fans on the org but honestly there
is no way in hell they are going to be inducted into the rock n roll
hall of fame although there are other questionable acts there.
First and foremost the barkays particularly during their 70's heyday
never became crossover artists particularly being a pioneering funk band.
The barkays primary thing was to get people on the dance floor. They never
really wrote universal songs or went for a universal audience like EWF and Kool and the gang. The closest the barkays are and will be in the R N R hall of fame is the funky outfits that the band gave to the R N R hall of fame. Personally i prefer their stax legacy and history at the stax museum versus the R N R hall of fame.
Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

Yeah I agree. The Barkays were too funky for the 'pop' R&R
Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.

I also agree with Phunkdaddy, I would be very surprised if the Barkays were ever to be acknowledged in that way, funky as hell...yes, legendary....no. IMO.

Y'all keep bringing up all those cheesy 80's synth cuts whenever we talk about the Bar-Kays lol

Here's a real baadddd ass jam from the Bar-Kays, and guess what, it ain't from the 80's lol

It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.
