I went ahead and got section 105.

I'll try for an upgrade later, I guess.

Where did you want to be? Higher up or on the floor?

Floor. But I'm not paying $400+ for any concert. Unless I go crazy at the last minute and look for a scalper or on ebay.

They are quite expensive.

I’m expecting Elton and Andrew and least one more guest to show up at these prices.

I was disappointed with the selection as well. This is the first time that I bought tix for big acts like this besides Prince or Santana because it is so frustrating and disappointing. The ticket prices are just outrageous and contending with the ticket pimps for good seats is draining.

For $150 I got sec 103 seats, which are nothing to write home about. These prices are ridiculous. Prince never charges this much and in the past 10 years I haven't had to go through all this drama to get the tix/good seats for his shows. There were so many packages and presales for George Michael that my head was spinning.

Ok, now that I am through venting - I can't wait for the show on July 9th! lol

I know I was confused for a minute there were like 8 different pre-sale packages going on. What the hell is up with these prices? disbelief There really needs to be a limit. And only 2 out of the 4 NY dates offered.

Wow, that sucks about the NY dates. So what if you wanted to buy tix for the other dates? Are those only for the general public? It's such a headache. I remember wanting tix to see the Police last summer and it was crazy. I just said forget it. You are right there needs to be a limit. If Prince can keep his prices down, then surely some of these other folks can.

Yeah except that I paid $250 for Prince in SF last year and the brother played the exact same Vegas show from the year prior (ad lib jokes and all)... I'm a diehard Prince supporter but I'm WAY MORE excited about seeing GM!!

Yeah, I didn't even bother with The Police which was a bummer because I really wanted to see them.

I can't wait to see George but this is pretty much all my summer concert money. My friend said she was willing to pay the price because we've never seen him and probably will never see him again. neutral

Really??? Why were the tix so high to see him in SF? How much were your GM tix? I'm excited to see GM because I've never seen him before. I expect a great show. However, to date, nothing gets me more excited than seeing Prince. biggrin

It's funny that you said that, because my sister and I were thinking the same thing. With the "legends" who knows when or if we will get to see them again. So I just bit the bullet for the $150 tix, I still could not do the $250. You are right though about the summer concert money. Stevie Wonder and Chaka Khan are giving free concerts at the Taste of Chicago this year and I'm sooooo happy because I could not afford to buy tix for them. I'm already going to see Santana in two weeks and Erykah Badu at the end of May. I'm going to be broke. sad

It was a tie-in with the Citi Card I think... I'm sure that show was fun for first-timers but it was pretty predictable for a real fan... I spent over a grand to take friends and left with a bit of buyer's remorse.

I got the Badu tix too but I think I need to make a trip out to Chicago. Last time I was there for the Taste Donna Summer was there but I never got to see her. neutral

Does anyone find it strange that you can still get good seats for this show?

his show is AMAZING! the energy i great and he sounds brilliant...
have seen it twice, once in Munchen - Germany and in Vienna - Austria
tickets were expensive here too, i paid for a floor standing ticket over 120 Euro - but it was worth every penny.
ENJOY!

Not really... GM hasn't had a hit here in over a decade... Unlike Prince, George hasn't built a loyal base for his live show since its been even longer that he's performed in the U.S. ... And, even though he has been embraced for his honesty, I'm sure being "out" has turned off many former fans.

You think so?

I'm just curious as to how he could demand such a high ticket price if that's the case?

They are probably betting he'll attract an older or gay crowd with disposable income rather than a new/young generation of fans on a budget.

There are still section 121 seats and when I searched for a single ticket, I was able to pull up section 3.

Are younger gays really into George? Thought it was all about Britters and Heidi Montag for them.
