But really? A year? That's it? A lot of couples have just barely begun. I'd need 3 years to really decide if I even wanted to be w/ him for the "rest of my days". If a dude asked me to marry him after just one year I'd be happy that he was so into us BUT I'd look @ him a little sideways, just a little & if I thought it was right (yet too soon) we'd have a 2 year engagement to make sure we were both still into it. For me, a year just isn't long enough to really & truly know a person for such a serious commitment

Congrats to both. I always had the impression that Jay-Z was the one who wanted to get married but that Beyonce was more focused on her career and more intent on achieving world domination and that she wouldnt be making that trip down the aisle until she was almost 30...I bet I know what was the deciding factor for her to finally take the plunge--two words: Leona Lewis. what's wrong with not marrying right away? The ones who marry right away after dating for a short time have trouble in their marriages later. Stats have shown this and I've seen happen to people I know. It would make sense that they didn't marry until they accomplished some things in their career while they're still young. Beyonce has all the options in the world, & Jay couldn't do much better really (yea, he could've found a looker but not w/ all Bayount has going for her - career, success, etc.)... They are predicting her album to open with 190-200k, Beyonce's last one sold double that. She may not even know who Leona Lewis is yet, I know I just found out 2 wks ago myself.

my ass!! I have a pic on my other computer of B and Jay with Gwyneth. Jay Z did a duet with Chris Martin. They obtained a marriage license a few months ago, the ceremony was a few weeks ago. There are pictures of Jay arriving, and Beyonce's family as well as Kelly and Michelle arriving, all dressed in white. | |
