Arcade Fire - "No Cars Go"

drool

I just got into this group in the last few weeks. I'd heard their debut played while I was in the car or around the house, but I'd never paid any attention.

Anyway, something made me download, then buy, their 2 albums, and I'm in love.

The song "No Cars Go" especially gets me moist. No, hard. No, I think I actually jumped up when I heard this the first time.

Who else is a fan? Besides everyone who got into them before I woke up? lol

Fantastic song! It was my immediate favorite from Neon Bible, but "My Body Is a Cage" is right there with it. I first heard it driving down to Wollongong with this amazing scenery, as we descended through cliffs on the famous "Sea Cliff" bridge. The majesty of the scenery was matched by the ascending majesty of the song as it nears its ending, and I'll never be able to disassociate those images from my mind. A definite classic!

Actually, you're the one that was playing them! I remember driving back home from Detroit one day and you guys were playing "Funeral"... it was sometime in the middle of winter... 2004 or 2005. Anyway, I probably wouldn't have ever sought this out if not for you. Thanks! I think I have a new band to add to my favorites, now. And I don't really "do" bands very easily lol

Oy, finally! I knew orgers would come around eventually wink
Neon Bible is amazing, even better than Funeral, and this track is definitely the peak.

Anxiety

i can't get into arcade fire enough to actually listen to them of my own volition, which is just fine because i have a boyfriend who listens to them and i really don't mind what i hear. just not enough to actually choose it myself. the no car song is his favorite one, i think. nod

That's a good one, too. I think you have to have just a little goth in ya' (snicker snicker) to really get it.
