Its been a really good year so far.....
REM - Accelerate (just out here in NYC before street date) amazing! Gary Louris - Vagabond (former Jayhawks lead singer) great stuff Black Crowes- Excellent! David Gray (just bought some older cds from him, Lost Songs, and Shine best of the early years) one of the best artists of the last 20 years Danity Kane- Welcome to the Dollhouse , for the most part this is a pop record and they have left the more Hip Hop rb shit behind them, thank you, excellent record, since Janet's was a let down, and Mariah seems to be the same old mid tempo boredom. Magne F- A dot of Black in the Blue of your Bliss (1/3 of the group a-Ha) while a-Ha work on their solo stuff, before they release their new record in late 2008, Magne, delivers a FREE download only CD for the "net free fans" and a limited (300 copies) signed, vinyl,cd, artwork, each cover different and unique, to the LOYALS, pure masterpiece of a record!! "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

Not sold on it yet. I like it. But I wish there were more actual "songs" on it, rather than so many sound collages and "song ideas" with talking over them. Fucking love it. I haven't been into anything like this in a long, long time. It's how I got my groove back. I ignored this for over a year. Always wanted to hear/own it, so I finally bought it. LOVES IT. And this is how Janet got HER groove back. I really love this album. It's just like the last two, but everything they did so very wrong is done so very right. Who'd have thought that the best way for Janet to put out a good album again would be for her to be almost completely uninvolved with it? Mmmmm, very nice. Very relaxing. Heartbreaking and uplifting at the same time. Puts me in the mood of a rainy summer afternoon. Or maybe it's just because that's when I listened to it the first time. This is something (Goldfrapp themselves) that I've managed to ignore for the longest time. But I love this album. Probably my favorite of the year, so far. Sublime. "Clowns" and "Monster Love" are especially kicking my ass. Plus I've downloaded several others that I'm checking out. Not sure I'm into them or will listen to them enough to own them, but I do like them: Lenny Kravitz, Roisin Murphy, Imogen Heap, Sheryl Crow, Alicia Keyes, several others. I hear so much about TALKING HEADS here I'm kind of interested now *scratches chin* I think it was $84 new on Amazon (or a sub-seller on Amazon). I've always liked the Talking Heads but I am absolutely stunned by this collection. A lot of their less famous songs are astonishing. I've only made it through 3 of the CD's so far, but nearly every song on every album is a winner. I actually don't think they get enough attention on the org for how amazing they are.
