I agree,Michael is the one who is holding them back.I know that the brothers are eager to do a reunion tour.Michael is indeed lazy.

But if he doesn't want to tour with them, they should just give it a try without him and see how it goes.Jermaine is a capable lead vocalist.Without Michael, they would probably have to play smaller venues, but like I said....a paycheck is a paycheck. There are many groups and bands on the road who are touring without their original lead singer.

Nobody can sing the part of Michael jackson BUT Michael Jackson... Michael Jackson is too unique to be duplicate...

Jermaine Jermaine tried to be the lead singer in the late 80's, and they failed miserabily... remember 2300 jackson street ???

And Jermaine is too different from Michael...

It didn't work yesterday, it won't work today...

Again, why touring for few bucks knowing they can make millions with Michael... Just one world tour in Asia wouldbe enough the entire family...

And again the Jacksons CAN'T TOUR without their original lead singer...

You know what, you might be right. But I don't see the harm in trying. The brothers have nothing to lose,at this point. They should go on the road and see what happens. There are alot of lesser bands on the road who are doing quite well.

I'm sorry but the Jacksons aint lazy

Michael is...

Jacksons are ready to perform...

Michael had several offers, he can make millions alone to perform, but he IS LAZY...

And this is not about money...

The matter of fact is the Jacksons can't tour without Michael, simply because they are brothers and Michael has been the front man since day one...

It has always been Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5

Michael Jackson is too charismatic to be replaced

Who's gonna sing the lead parts ???

You can't compare a soul group like EWF and a family group like the Jacksons...

The public won't embrace the Jacksons without Michael Jackson...

You can't replace Michael Jackson like you can replace Maurice White

Oh Holy Bejeezus Juice, you are tripping. Re-read the posts by SoulAlive and me. There IS a niche market on the r&b circuit that would embrace the Jackson brothers without Michael whether you want to believe it or not. What I gather from your comment is that you're not familar with that market, or... confuse...and I'm not talking about touring for millions. I'm speaking to the idea of being a true performer and being dedicated to your craft, and taking the opportunity to PLAY because it's your true calling, be it the Tokyo Dome, Montreux Jazz Festival, Essence Festival in New Orleans or the Tom Joyner Sky Show in freakin' North Carolina confused.

My friend...

Again, the jacksons are not comparable to most r'n'b group... This is a family group with as the lead singer the most famous and recognizable frontman ever...

You can't replace him, AND you can't tour without him...

That's the problem...

Of course if they could have toured without him, they would...

And you mention the Tokyo Dome, Montreux Jazz Festival, Essence Festival you seem that you're not familar with that market...

Noway they can perfom in these type events... This is way too big for them...

There is NO niché for the Jacksons without Michael Jackson...

I disagree.I think the Jacksons could out there without Michael and do a tour. They could play theatres and small, intimate venues.Jermaine had a bunch of solo hits on his own....he could add a few of those songs to the setlist...

"Daddy's Home"
"Let's Get Serious"
"Tell Me I'm Not Dreamin" (performed as a duet with Marlon)
"Do What You Do"

I'm not saying that this will be like a Rolling Stones tour, where they'd be playing stadiums and charging fans $400 to see them (lol)...without Michael, they will have to settle for smaller venues and cheaper ticket prices. But hey....this is how musicians make a living! A paycheck is a paycheck.

And who knows? If they take the first steps and actually do it,maybe it will encourage their lazy brother to get off his ass and join them? He'll go to one of the shows, see the audience go nuts during a classic song like "I'll Be There" and it will inspire him to participate.

something else they could do: a Jacksons reality show!! hmmm

Let VH1 follow them around as they plan, rehearse and go out on the road. There are many other has-been artists who are rejuvenating their careers with reality shows....why shouldn't the Jacksons take advantage of that opportuntity too?

Millions of viewers would tune in every week to see this, especially the inevitable BIG EPISODE when the brothers visit Michael Jackson at his home to convince him to join the tour!! We're talking sky-high ratings and publicity!!

On one hand I’m glad the Jacksons haven’t done a reality show which are basically vehicles for the public to watch nobodies and has-beens to get a few minutes of new or extended fame. On the other hand it might be one that I’d actually watch.

Every episode we’d wonder if Michael would make an appearance—because you know he wouldn’t until the next to last episode—we could see Janet doing whatever it is that she does when not copulating. I’d like to see Family Day with everyone together…the offspring and what they’re up to. It could possibly be interesting especially if it lead to at least one concert or a vareity show or something.

I think they should replace Mike - maybe with various of his biters at different times. Maybe then he'd get off his lazy arse

I'm sure it would be a ratings success.Who wouldn't tune in every week to see what the Jacksons are up to?

The clip of Family Day was my favorite part of Mj's private home movies special. All the family together was nice smile

stop! lol

Seriously,I think they could play small theatres. They could sell tickets in smaller places, especially if they go on tour with another act....maybe someone like Stephanie Mills,The Whispers or Teena Marie? Someone who had alot of hits back in the day, too.

Remember also, every time you hear a Beatles song telling you how great toilet paper or a cookie is MJ gets between $350,000 - $500,000 to license the song for each commercial.

With that kind of income MJ doesn't need to leave the house.

Phone rings: (Hello, this is Michael Jackson)

Michael! Hi, how are you? This is Craig from the Ex-Lax company. I was wondering if you guys were able to make a decision on a song for Ex-Lax?

MJ: First of all, I'm in charge and I decide everything. And yes, you may have a license for 3 months for $400,000.

(Craig) (Gulps) Gee, Michael we got Moby for $5,000 and some carrots.

MJ: Well, I'm not Moby. OK, if you don't want the song....

(Craig) Wait. We'll pay whatever you want.

MJ: OK, Craig. $400,000 it is. You can have "Let It Be"

(Craig) Wow! Are you sure? That's such a sacred Beatles song held in great regard by Angelo-Saxons all over the world. Paul wrote that song about his Mother.

MJ: F*** Paul

(Craig) (Gasps). I thought you and Paul were friends. What about 'The Girl Is Mine?'

MJ: The girl wasn't his. She didn't have a leg to stand on. May I suggest an idea for the commercial?

(Craig) Sure!

MJ: I want you to show faces of people morphing into each other as they sit on the toilet (Giggles) and I want Paul's voice to come in loudly: (sings) Let It Be. Let It Be.

There's no excuse for that. None.

Even if they made mistakes early on, by now they should understand this stuff.

They're no different than average folk that want to live way above their means or who refuse to do one simple responsible thing with their money.

I don't believe the whole story, simply because Marlon is now an estate agent and the thing about him moving into a motel happened years ago, so I don't know why they are treating that as a new story. Secondly, Michael NEVER signed any of his brothers to his record label, he signed his nephews, 3T but not his brothers.

Having said that I can't understand why a person like Jermaine is still relying on Michael to tour with him before he makes money. Jermaine once had a relatively successful, solo career of his own compared to the other brothers yet he is the one alway going on about reunion tours.

Exactly. The whole news article is a bunch of bullshit.

What would everyone be touring for? (except Michael and Janet) Nostalgia. None of the rest of them have made new music since the 90's have they?

Why not have The Jacksons tour out of Nostalgia?!?

KISS did it.
The Rollings Stones are still doing it.
Duran Duran did it.
New Edition did it.

Hell, even New Kids On The Block are about to do it in 2008.

Janet can't moonwalk or robotic like Michael. But she can do lead vocals on most of The Jackson song catalog.
