it's just a mashup of the beatles white album and the accapella version of jay z's black album. there are a load of other mashups with different colour names by different people, such as two "purple albums" with prince mashups

most of them are crap to me. the loops are too short on the grey album for my liking, and i've been a fan of mashups and bastard pop since the early 90s

Its over-rated

It's the only Jay-Z album I own. I like that it isn't lazy laying a cappellas over straight instrumentals. Dangermouse was inventive in how he cut up the Beatles tracks to make new instrumentals. You have to think a little bit in order to identify the Beatles songs he uses. Very cool.
