Back to Life (acapella) - Soul II Soul

This is NOT the version you'll be familiar with if you only had heard the single. Mary J. covered this seven years ago and this was on the "Belly" movie. music

I read somewhere that Mariah had sung background on this...when she was an up and coming singer. This was her first job. Any truth to this?

Ah..The Funky Dreds! Classic cut. On a related note, anybody remeber the Reggae Philharmonic Orchestra? They did some of the orchestration on the Soul 2 Soul cuts, and had an album of their own material as well. The song Love and Hate was the kinda big single.
A happy face, A Thumpin Bass, For A Lovin' Race. PEACE.

I like their second album. I was a baby back then but their sound most ahve been really influencial. Has anyone ever heard Madonna's single mix for Keep It Together?
Or the fantastic George Michael song: Soul Free??

they're all Soul II Soul inspired
