Duffy- Mercy Yesterday I waded through the difficult task of watching some music videos in the morning, and amidst the usual pap was this little gem of a video. I hadn't heard about the singer or the song, but apparently it's been #1 in the UK for 4 weeks running, and deservedly so. It continues the tradition of Northern soul in the UK, and the chick has a serious Brigitte Bardot vibe going on.

I've been rabidly trying to find her single available somewhere, but to no avail. Damn incorrect Aussie release dates! The album won't be released here in the states until May I believe so I've had to acquire Duffy's songs through other means. 
The show tonight was really good. Her voice was fantastic although my first impression was that her vocal style was a bit of a put on and not really true. But that may just be because she sings a little differently than how she speaks (which many singers do). Her backup band (six musicians) did a fine job also. Setlist: Rockferry Warwick Avenue Hanging On Too Long Serious Breaking My Own Heart Syrup & Honey Stepping Stone Delayed Devotion Tomorrow Mercy Encore: Distant Dreamer 50 minutes .
