Angie Stone Writes Great Lyrics

whistle Call my lover, hang up, call again
What in the world is happening
Listen in, but don't yell at me
Isn't it ironic all you wanna do is smoke chronic
Boy, you forgot when you were down
Who was around

Definitely some profound lyrics . I am also feeling her latest album as well. For some reason, I just had to reflect for a moment.

She is a very underappreciated singer and songwriter. She has chunked out some great songs as well as some incredible albums. Stone Love, Mahogany Soul, and The Art of Love & War still receive many spins in my cd player. I'm glad she's on Stax Records and left J Records because they weren't doing anything for her. Didn't she contribute some stuff for D'Angelo on his classic Brown Sugar joint?

Wow! Voodoo is one of my favorites also! I knew her and D were together at one point. In fact, during an interview for Essence magazine, she even admitted that it was a turblent relationship at times also.

she is the bomb and managed to transend through the years since the sequence days. she should really get an honor in hip hop. and she sings and raps. people forget that about her. but she can do any music style and never sound old.
