"Burning Up" is faster than "Everybody". Just remember that, vainandy. Yeah, but "Burning Up" is more of a pop/rock type song. "Everybody" is more of a R&B/dance floor type song. Actually, I can remember the first time I heard "Everybody". It was on the R&B stations in my area in the summer of 1982. I never heard it on the pop stations even after the album was released in 1983. "Everybody" was her first single which did not have a picture of Madonna. Everyone in my area thought it was a song by a new black artist. The situation reminded me of the Teena Marie strategy of bringing in a white artist to the R&B crowd without showing a picture. I never knew she was a white artist until "Borderline" and "Lucky Star" started showing up on music video shows a year later. Then I said...."Madonna? That's the lady I heard last year". Andy is a four letter word. | |
