Fucking haters, let's see you do what she did in the little time she had and have half as much impact. Losers. Why waste your time in a thread for someone you don't like?
Don't you have better things to do with your time? Or are you that uninspired and boring that the only thing you can do with yourself is critisize people who actually did something with their lives? Congratulations, you suck at life! Anyway, my favorite songs of hers are One in a Million, Rock the Boat and Try Again.

I loved her from the beginning, but she really set it off with the One in a Million album. Aaliyah is also a classic. My Favorites: At Your Best (You Are Love) Try Again We Need a Resolution Are You That Somebody If Your Girl Only Knew More Than a Woman One in a Million Came to Give Love (Outro) -- maybe my favorite interlude/outro of all time, it's very poignant now Man Undercover (from Timbaland & Magoo's Welcome to Our World) Messed Up Back & Forth Miss You Never Comin' Back Rock the Boat Age Ain't Nothing But a Number Hot Like Fire I Refuse 4 Page Letter Read Between the Lines Never Givin' Up Heart Broken Those Were the Days Don't Know What to Tell Ya It's Whatever I Care 4 U "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

My brother was a HUGE fan...so much so that his youngest daughter (born a few months after Aaliyah's death) was named Vicky Aaliyah. By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

I was fortunate enough to be able to attend the vigil held outside the school she attended in Detroit the night that she died. So sad.

Ya know, somehow all of that passed me by. Yeah, I remember back then something about the record label having insurance policies on them and - therefore - a conspiracy theory about the label "cashing in" on their investments. Especially Left Eye since she wasn't as "profitable" as they expected. ...or something like that. Maybe I should google it. By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

I love Aaliyah so much!
I love her unreleased songs Have you guys heard Steady Ground? Its a favourite of mine. Also Static who just died on Monday can be heard in the background vocals. Its a great song. I love her version of Giving Up that leaked in 2005 along with Steady Ground, and Where could he be, with Tweet and Missy. Steady Ground Giving Up Where could he be? *lisa stansfield - been around the world. One of my favourites from the Aaliyah album - I can be Tell me what you think!

Actually, I thought that this song was SPECIFICALLY aimed at all the naysayers that frowned on her relationship (marriage?) with R. Kelly when she was just a teen? Ah, my first true musical love.
Her last, self-titled effort, is the pinnacle! Her contemporary peers have yet to touch the genius of that album (although I'd say Brandy's "Afrodisiac" comes close). http://www.last.fm/user/somebodyunot
