Quincy Jones Says 'Thriller' Is Divine

Quincy Jones Says 'Thriller' Is Divine

Quincy Jones.
Quincy Jones refuses to take credit for producing Michael Jackson's hit album Thriller, insisting "God" made it. The music maestro claims he and the star never planned the LP - which this year celebrates its 25th anniversary - and claims God has a hand in every piece of music made.

He tells Interview magazine, "People kill me when they say, 'How do you sit down and plan to do an album like Thriller?' Give me a break. You have to let go and let God deal with things. As I get older, I realize, about music or whatever, how little we have to do with anything. You write the script and then God comes and rewrites it."

Musically, I think God is almost as gifted as Prince.

Also, I heard that God made some serious coin offa Thriller & Thrller 25th Anniversary.
From what I understand, He's got more money than Himself.

Why the hell would god write such shitty songs like Milkshake or My Humps?

And Q, as much of a genius as he is, is wrong for that. Compare that to, er, What's Going On. Now THAT was God's work. Thriller was the work of two black men who wanted to become the biggest artists since sliced bread and they both were for a good minute.

i'm a atheist so I get sick of such comments...

BUT you're right Thriller was made to beat all records. MJ was dissapointed after he only won 3 (??) grammys for OTW and sweared the next one would be the biggest album ever.
God has nothing to do with that!

Yes,'Q's Jook Joint' was his last studio album. It was released in 1995.Several years ago, there was talk of a new Quincy Jones album, featuring songs performed by Dre and Snoop,Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake, amongst others.I don't know if Quincy abandoned this project, but I wasn't looking forward to it.I'm tired of those big, commercial albums featuring a million guest stars!

I think he's 75 years old,so he probably retired from making music. On the other hand,Carlos Santana recently said that he's currently working on a project with Quincy and Michael,so who knows?

MJ has said this same shit often times too.

If you sat back and let God make the record, nothing would get done wink

Maybe that's why MJ's new album is taking such a long time. He's waiting for God to make it. lol

I luv me some MJ but I must say:

If he'd stop thinking sooo much of himself and if Joe was still there knocking him around and teling him how ugly he looked we'd be still getting some good music and slammin videos.
LOVE HARD.

If you listen closely on headphones he's singing bass on the track.
