God, I'm Slow: Alica's "Like You'll Never See Me"

I didn't really like "No One" much, all the chord changes were too predictable and the whole thing felt like a retread of Fallen.

But this song is damn good, can't believe I'm just hearing it for the first time. Looking at Billboard, it's so unsurprising that it's not doing as well.

This song does nothing for me. I love Alicia but, I think this CD, is too plain...

I like it too...very Prince inspired. Upon first listen it reminded me of 'Adore' and a little bit of 'Diamonds & Pearls' but then I realized that the chiming keys that start the song and play throughout are the same notes Lisa plays at the very end of 'Purple Rain' right before the violins!!!!

Its more than a few Keys, its the keys, the drums, the everything! It 'is' the last 2 mins of Purple Rain, Is this a sample or did she have an under the table deal with Prince?
If I remember she played him the album before it was released, for sample clearance?

Sales don't equate being good. Look at the artistic quality of the music.
Sorry it's not there on this album as much as she is selling because of
the promotion behind her.

I know im just saying..its not just promotion, but people like her all together especially black and white women. Alot of older caucasian women love her I am learning while working at the bank and get in2 music. Lots of them comment on her being their favorite 'newer' artist.

I dont have the album myself so I cant judge.

It makes perfect sense that old white women would like her because she is so bland and tame.

That's not an insult to old white women. There are philistines in every segment of the population, but an old, white philistine will mostly gravitate to bland and tame junk, whereas a younger philistine will mostly gravitate to more energised junk. thumbs up!

Eh, I might go into something about generalizations, but after reading your clarification, you're probably mostly right smile
