Diana is a diva but she know's her limits but Aretha really needs help with her dressing. Sorry, it's just bothering me haha. Diana doesn't always look too good herself as we all know too well lol, but she at least she wears clothes that actually fit her body type, unlike you know who. Does Henretha even own a mirror I wonder? I wish someone would tell her about the way she dresses already lol. You got that right. Again, I feel like taking back what I said about Ms. Ross, lol! Even she doesn't go public like that. Actually, a lot of folks came out swinging after that broadcast. On the Tom Joyner Morning Show preachers were calling in giving on-air sermons on why Beyonce's intro was foul But whatever, I'm more inteested in the notion as to why Beyonce couldn't contain her stage alter ego enough to keep from running into Ms. Turner and mowing her down onstage! That made me mad

I might get a lot of flack for this but, I have never considered Aretha the "Queen Of Soul". In my opinion, she is an overrated singer. You want a soul singers that could be contenders for that title okay.... For me Gladys, Minnie, Tina and Chaka,( and even with Chaka, I am talking about when she was with Rufus)...These are women who I think fit that title nicely. Aretha, just does not do it for me at all.

Anyway, every physical single Whitney released in the '80s made the R&B top 5. "Thinking About You" even made the top 10 on radio play alone. She's a pop and R&B star regardless of how people try to pigeonhole her. I just disagree. You can continue discussing this. I just disagree. People can have different opinions. Yeah, I got that. It's my opinion that you're wrong. Thanks for your permission to keep discussing it. I'm only ribbing you because your posts come across as "this is my opinion, but let's not discuss it." Sorry guys... [Edited 2/13/08 2:51am] yeah...you're buggin' out... I have some of old aretha singing at her dads church....lawd...she can sing. Tina is probably more overrated vocally but is still a powerhouse. she really needs to stop with the madness though. This is stupid. Her health really needs to be her concern.

Aretha Franklin is The Queen!!! Go any damn where and mention The Queen and folks will think you are talking about Aretha Franklin unless of course you're in Britain!
Beyonce's a ditz!! She fucked up the intro, plain and simple!! It looked to me like the last part on the teleprompter either wasn't there or Beyonce couldn't pronounce what was there because she hesitated ever so briefly before she actually said "The Queen"! That pause makes me think, the heffa just didn't know what else to say, we all know thinking is not her strong suit! For all of you with something negative to say about Aretha, you can kiss her ENTIRE royal ass!!

98% of us totally get along! As for Aretha, she needs to sit her ass down... or better yet get her ass up on the treadmill There's no issue here, she simply wants some press or something. How silly

Timmy84 said: lastdecember said: Yeah but still Carlos Santana said the same thing Beyonce said in that tribute, which by the way, Beyonce didnt write the tribute so ARETHA should be mad at the Grammies not Beyonce. BUT Carlos Santana about a month ago spoke about Tina and discussed his times with her back in the 60's and recently, and he said that Divas come and go, but no one will ever be Tina. And before people GO NUTS i think he meant that DIVAS are a lifestyle that can be re-created, but TINA's style and energy cannot be re-created.
Aretha's too busy destroying cheeseburgers and hot dogs and chicken wings to think the Grammies would do that. She's such a fucking biter. I'm gonna fuck around and call Tina the "original queen of soul". She will be hearing from me! LOL As Beyonce gets on my last nerve, your comments have me ROLLIN. MJ Fan 1992-Forever

She gave Freddie Mercury and the fellas a hard time.
She was (as Dave Chappelle says) "Salty" with Elizabeth in England. I was playing poker at a casino where she was singing and I had a royal flush and won. She tried to get me to bring the money back because it wasn't her picture on the cards. Aretha is a legend without dispute with a powerful voice. (And she would make a great Mardi Gras float or she should be up there in the air with Snoopy at the Macy's Parade.) BUT. Tina is the Queen of Rock and Roll and Gladys Knight is the real Queen of Soul. "The first time I saw the cover of Dirty Mind in the early 80s I thought, 'Is this some drag queen ripping on Freddie Prinze?'" - Some guy on The Gear Page
