Remake Q's "Secret Garden" - Who Would YOU Choose? 1st verse (Al B.): Rahsaan Patterson
2nd verse (James Ingram): Jaheim 3rd verse (El): Maxwell 4th verse (Barry): Anthony Hamilton Now, if I did a female version: 1st verse: Beyonce 2nd verse: Badu 3rd verse: Ledisi 4th verse: Patti Soneone needs to remake the shit regardless though. It would be tight with the right lineup. nWo: bboy87 - Timmy84 - LittleBlueCorvette - MuthaFunka - phunkdaddy - Christopher

Keep in mind this a seductive song so I don't think Beyonce does well in singing those type of sings. Try to get a singer with a softer and smooth but soulful voice. I think Goapele can do it! Goapele has a very warm seductive song If you don't know about her she is a neo soul singer who has a famous song out called Closer. The rest of the females are good too I like them!

Goapele would be a good choice as well though. nWo: bboy87 - Timmy84 - LittleBlueCorvette - MuthaFunka - phunkdaddy - Christopher

If I wanted to go with an "All Diva" lineup:
1st verse: Beyonce 2nd verse: Mariah 3rd verse: Whitney 4th verse: Patti That would be some hot shit to be sitting in on during rehearsals . nWo: bboy87 - Timmy84 - LittleBlueCorvette - MuthaFunka - phunkdaddy - Christopher

Why not? Is this some legendary song that should be in the RRHOF? I think it would be bomb to have it remade. Hell, Q could even choose the singers. nWo: bboy87 - Timmy84 - LittleBlueCorvette - MuthaFunka - phunkdaddy - Christopher

Why not? Is this some legendary song that should be in the RRHOF? No, but it's just not a good idea. Try something new. I'd also hate to see something like "Self Destruction" done again. It was a nice moment in time. [Edited 2/12/08 15:34pm] "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

1st verse: Talib 2nd verse: Snoop 3rd verse: Kanye 4th verse: Common You got that covered. So I'll say let's have a Smooth Jazz version for the ladies: 1st verse (Al B.): Michael Franks 2nd verse (James Ingram): Michael Bolton 3rd verse (El): Michael McDonald 4th verse (Barry): Will Downing "The first time I saw the cover of Dirty Mind in the early 80s I thought, 'Is this some drag queen ripping on Freddie Prinze?'" - Some guy on The Gear Page

Ok, so you're saying no more remakes ever - by ANYBODY? No, but "posse" songs like that just aren't conducive to remakes IMO. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

And while we're at it let's do a version by: "The Ladies Men".
We know these guys get ALL the honeys. 1st verse (Al B.): Johnny Mathis 2nd verse (James Ingram): Freddie Jackson 3rd verse (El): Clay Aiken 4th verse (Barry): Little Richard [Edited 2/12/08 16:35pm] "The first time I saw the cover of Dirty Mind in the early 80s I thought, 'Is this some drag queen ripping on Freddie Prinze?'" - Some guy on The Gear Page

But some songs shouldn't be. This is one of them AFAIC. It just wouldn't be interesting to me. Now that I think about it, though, I'd be kind of interested in hearing the song covered by one artist. That would be a fresh take on it. "The Secret Garden" is a novelty: a Quiet Storm song with an "all-star" lineup. FWIW, I think there are two examples of great, interesting remakes on the same album: "I'll Be Good to You" and "Tomorrow (A Better You, Better Me)."
