Could u explain why? Well before becoming a sucess with Black Eye'd Peas she was part of "Wild Orchid". A Pop / R&B group with very skillful 'black sounding' voices. They achieved mid- populatiry with 3 hits "Supernatural" "Talk To Me" and At Night I Pray". Supernatural: Both songs show her incredible vocals at that time in her career. They broke up after 3 albums, the first one being their only real Gold success. Stacie tried out for BEP and made it I guess. She looks and acts like a white girl who puts out (hot, but not unattainably hot) - typical club chick. She's tacky, but clean-looking (except when she pissed on herself). She sings like a white girl who listens to R&B and tries to sing like the "sistas" but retains her "you can easily tell I'm white" voice and stays in the pop genre where its "safe". She hangs with people of color (BEP) which makes her look "cool" to other white people who have less friends of color. (The Gwen Stefani effect) yet she stands in front of them enough to stand out, knowing that the mainstream will always pay more attention to the scantily-clad blonde chick than the "others". She's over-the-top enough to acquire a good gay following - short skirts, high boots, big weaves and pancake makeup go a long way for some. Explain'd.  | |

I was a semi-psuedo fan then...after she joined BEP I pretty much forgot that she used to be a better singer. Glad to see she's kicked drugs though, whether I like her music or not. Some of this is true, some of this is seems a bit unfair. Are you gonna say the same thing in reverse about Kanye? She's mostly famous because, like it or not, she ended up with a pop album that's well produced and has a couple catchy-as-hell songs (in the straight pop vein)--especially Big Girls Don't Cry. She has cutesy girly songs which draws in the teenage girls as well as the little girls. Same with Gwen Stefani.
She's got a hot fiance which draws in the older women ("how did she get him?", countless wedded bliss mag articles to come eventually) She's got a good body and a bit of a porn star look about her face which draws in the boys. Her songs get stuck in your head whether you want them to or not. I did like that Glamorous song though. | |

Though I admit to liking the beat for London Bridge (wishing someone else was on top of that track!  ), I don't really get it either. What's even more disturbing is them (THE-Media) trying to make her into a fashion icon of some sort    I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!!
