Smashing Pumpkins - Zeitgeist
I was really looking forward to this, but Zeitgeist turned out to be a total snoozer - There's not a single great track on there, just a 12/13 tracks of boring, uninspired rock. I've seen the future, and boy it's rough...

John Legend's second album.
There's something off about his singing. I like the tonal quality of his voice. It's deep, it's rich, it's soothing. But, his phrasing is off and I just can't get into the way he sings. Also, the songs range from fairly good to snoozers. The Smashing Pumpkins' Zeitgeist really was bad. Billy Corgan on autopilot, making music under the Pumpkins name ostensibly so it would sell and there would be a lot of excitement about the Pumpkins being back. There wasn't. The Zwan album was a better Smahing Pumpkins album. Zeiteist was like throw away music past sessions that didn't make the albms for good reason. [Edited 2/12/08 0:49am]

Real Life - Joan As Policewoman
I had heard so many of the songs from their inception and several of the demos fro them and i'm afraid i like them better. they she arranged and recorded them in the studio left out all the cool parts and energy. Volta - Bjork I do enjoy the record but about have the songs sound the same and 2 or 3 could be Missy elliot songs. Prince #MUSICIANICONLEGEND

Seal's new album was a disappointment for me. I've always loved his work and he has an amazing voice, but the new album isn't doing a thing for me. It's quite bland, unfortunately.

planet earth - fcuz. i wasn't expecting that much but we got even less
volta - it's still an ok, even a nice album but it's still a disappointment zeitgeist - indeed just a wall of sound where nothing sticks out at all. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

I agree, unfortunately! I own all of his albums, and there's uually something to like in all of them....but this latest one is just some bland, cookie cutter dance music, IMO... ... " I've got six things on my mind --you're no longer one of them." - Paddy McAloon, Prefab Sprout

You can hear that he was changing up his sound a bit and making a more experimental statement. I thought it was even better than his debut album, which was just a good, by the numbers, neo-soul record. Check me out and add me on:

Yes, but I think for a different reason. Smashing Pumpkins is the whole band, not just Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlain. Without James and Marcy, the whole thing just seemed to fall a bit flat.

I was excited for this one... and liked it OK at first - but I've got to admit that I really don't listen to it at all. VOTE....EARLY

[Edited 2/12/08 0:49am] I always considered John Legend to be the "black", Tony Bennett. His phrasing is just off and his stage presence owes allot to a laxative.
