So underrated she really could've of accomplished more than what she deserved she was at her highest peak during the mid and late eighties to earl ninties. It is such a ashame how we don't respect real talent. We revere a crackhead like Amy Winehouse more I don't have a problem with she is an excellent singer but needs to get her act together. Stephanie had her head on her shoulders she had a lot of hits on Billboard and released so many albums. Every song she has made I love but I believe her real started coming in around 1980- 1995.
1) I Have Learned To Respect The Power Of Love ***** 2) The Medicine Song 3) Automatic Passion 4) You're Putting A Rush On Me 5) Feel The Fire 6) Two Hearts 7) Never Knew Love Like This Before 8) I Feel Good All Over !!!!! ***** 9) Comfort Of A Man ***** 10) Home ***** So underrated but she still is performing she is also going to release another album! 2004 Born For This was an excellent album best songs on the track 1) Healing Time 2) Born For This 3) Free 4) Love Of My Life 5) Baby Love

These of some of my favorites too. I am with you put your body in it tops my list too. I have to add rising desire which would be my second favorite, stand back, and something in the way you feel to the list too. [Edited 2/6/08 18:57pm] Don't laugh at my funk

I love Stephanie Mills. Her double-CD set Gold is a great place to start or expand your collection. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

I'm listening to it right now my only complaint is that it includes the single version of "Put Your Body In It".The 12" version is superior.Otherwise,it's the best Stephanie Mills compilation out there.

Agreed on both counts. "Put Your Body In It" is one of those jams that MUST be heard in it's entirety. The 12" version kicks ass! The single version is incredibly lame. They removed most of the ad libs,so all we hear at the end is Stephanie repeating "it's non-stop now" over and over, lol.

"Keep Away Girls" makes me smile.I like the part when she talks about "We've been friends forever, girl scouts too" then she boldy warns "Keep your hands off my guy, don't be fool enough to try,I'm warning you,I'm warning you!" classic

Jeffrey Daniels, ironically the guy who taught Michael Jackson how to moonwalk. As you know,in the late 70s,Stephanie had a crush on Michael.

Its a pretty obscure song. Its a duet with another RnB singer(Patti something,,,4get her name, probably a back-up singer). The song sounds like a female version of The Body Is Mine.

Stephanie Mills there is POWER in this SANGA! She is one of my all time fav vocalist and she is in town tonight here in St. Louis, Mo on a bill with The Whispers & After 7....IMO she could have done a show as the HEADLINER she has done it here B4. At any rate she is above all else a talented and sweet lady. Go Steph...She needs more props for being in the industry as long as she has been, rather than these plastic performers out TODAY!

Yes, Miss Mills is really underrated. She's awesome!!!
I saw her live a couple months ago here in NYC; she said ti's gonna be a live album. THe lead singer of my band kinda sounds like her and we do several of her songs including "Whatcha gonna do". But WHAT IS UP with that version of Feel the Fire with Teddy P? I Never heard that version. it lacks all the gospel feel of Stephanie's. I thought it was originally a Peabo Bryson song.

Yeah,it was originally done by Peabo Bryson in the late 70s.Teddy and Stephanie's version appears on Teddy's 1980 album 'TP'.The two of them became duet partners for awhile, scoring a huge hit in 1981 with "Two Hearts".I think they even toured together back then,as well.

So Stephanie did it twice?? One soloe and one as a duet? Her solo version is the best.
