Marvin Gaye's National Anthem performance turns 25 too!

Thriller ain't the only thing celebrating 25 years too. wink This month marks the 25th anniversary of one of the greatest performances of the national anthem by one of the greatest singers of all time:

Love it! You can see the players were really feeling it too. Not like the Carl Lewis performance. falloff Actually, they felt that too, but not in a good way.

It's really not fair.

I'd have changed the anthem afterwards.

You can't do that. It's been done.

Kind of like when Hendrix played it on guitar.

I like the edgy versions like Marvin's and Jimi's, I could really care less if Francis Scott Key is rolling in his grave. wink

I say Whitney's is classic though.

And I'm sure that Billie and Ella, Aretha and Sarah Vaughan could bring something earth shattering.

But dammit, you just took a rather awkward song and shut down everyone, everything.

I could even dunk after that and I'm only 6 foot 1.
