I guess I know what you're trying to say. But 'Synchronicity' and 'Spirits In The Material World' mostly left the reggae sound behind.

Well, Sting has always been pretentious. Boring? To each his own.

I may be a bit revisionist, but last year's reunion junket was dull.

It's just you. And I'm not even a fan.

Maybe.
But that "honky" shit is, well, kinda questionable.

"blanc" meaning "white" is different to "honky"

It's like me as a white guy substituting word "black" for "nigger", in my opinion. I wouldn't do it, and I don't expect you to either.

I love The Police. But my favorite "officer" has always been Stuart Copeland. That guy is one of the best percussionists... EVER.

I think The Police were a fine singles band but album wise i don't think they were good enough to deserve the reputation they have. They're great in small doses though.

I know Honky is supposed to be offensive but to me it isn't. Damn isn't there a genre of country called Honkytonk.

They only have 5 albums... they didn't have time to cover much ground. I think they're great. Their sound is more unique and distinctive than a lot of other famous bands...

I'm not even sure white people are offended by the term. dave just thinks he's owed something for "nigger". In any case I was talking about music; not people.

I know you have your reasons for trying to throw the police under the bus, but er uh,

Sting has always been hot! ( He had a lazy band tho.....)
Canary in a Coalmine,
So Lonely,
Sync I & II,
Ghost in the Machine!!!!!

even hotter when he hooked up with the jazz greats, kenny kirkland, wyton marsailas etc. on that Bring on the Night album.

BRANFORD; defintely not Wynton

"Blue Turtles" band was cool, but still reeked of honky reggae and pretentious lyrics.
