"Freak of the Week" by Funkadelic or How I Stopped Worrying and Bought a Funkadelic Compilation

Up until now it's been basically Parliament; for easy access baby. Except for the harder-to-get last albums you could basically find almost every Parliament CD in almost any wrecka stow.

But, Funakadelic is a completely different matter.

Funkadelic, stateside in a retail store, is relatively rare.

Still very hard to get.

Of course, you can go olline and buy whatever. But, not very accessible, for someone like myself who likes to buy "live."

Up until this point I've got the British import of "One Nation" and the muddy sounding non-remastered "Maggot Brain."

So, lo and behold, on my trip to Best Buy this week they had a copy of a Funkadelic import of a later-day greatest hits for a reasonable price.

I have some of the songs already on "One Nation" but --- it's great, if for nothing else, the almost 15 or so minute jam "Freak of the Week."

I rememmber, back on KMOJ in Mpls. Prince "hosted" NPG radio which contained a snippet of the beginning of this, but up until now I had now idea.

I've had this jam on "repeat" for quite a while now.

It's criminal that remastered Funkadelic is so hard to get in person here in the U.S.

This makes me think Funkadelic completely.

You could just suck it up and buy online. Depriving yourself of great music just to buy in person? disbelief

Are any of the "early" CDs remastered or do they share that same uncared-for sound that's on my copy of "Maggot Brain?"
