It took me a while to warm up to this song, but I love it now and I finally understand why so many MJ fans like it. It's a Great song.
"And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ heart

"Baby, that was much too fast"...Goodnight dear sweet Prince. I'll love you always heart

While it still blows my mind that this song was his biggest hit in England until "Earth Song," it's a great, great song. Love it.

Yep, of all of Michael's early hits in the UK, "One Day in Your Life" was his first #1 and only #1 from the Motown days in the UK ("Ben" hitting #1 in the US). I think the last MJ song to hit #1 in the UK was "Blood on the Dance Floor".

Crazy. I thought Thrillermania engulfed the globe. But that is mainly my perception from living in North America at the time.

You'll be amazed at how successful some of his Motown records were in the UK, it's actually amazing some even charted even modestly well in the US!

Bad was bigger in the UK than Thriller.

But everywhere else Thriller was huge. It was big in the UK as well but not as huge as Bad.

As a performer Michael still had a long way to go.

Nah, those were just his "awkward" years. He was an excellent performer in 1971.

I've actually watched the whole concert on Youtube and I prefer this concert to the Dangerous tours. It was raw, he was going through that stage, but he sang live and there is a simplicity about it that makes it so real, not like some music video on stage.

Oh I agree. He was great up till 1972/3, then that damn puberty kicked in and threw him for a loop. He had to find the new MJ, whatever that was gonna be. By 1978/9, he was starting to find it.
