Your favorite remix(es)? I recently discovered the name of a great dance song I heard last year ("Lola's Theme," by Swedish group the Shapeshifters), and I immediately snatched up all the versions I could find of it online. Most took away from the charm of the original, but one -- by D.J. Eric Prydz -- was awesome! It's amazing how a person with decent studio prowess can completely take a song by another artist to an entirely new level!
What are your favorite remixes? [Edited 2/1/08 8:11am] Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

All I know is that's the version they included on the hits CD ChangesBowie, and I prefer the original version of "Fame".

I picked up a vinyl copy of ChangesBowie which had less tracks (didn't cover his later 80s era), and it has the original version of "Fame". I think this thread should probably mention remixes that we prefer over the originals.

Remixes for the most part havent mattered to me since the 80's pretty much. Unless you are totally re-doing the song, new vocals, different instruments than its nothing more than some dj slapping on the same ibiza beats over a song. The best remixes i have heard during the 2000 era were a-Ha's "lifelines" single, they selcted no name people and had them totally go somewhere new with the song, using demo versions and vocals of the song, and different lyrics at times, basically creating, in the singles case, 5 new songs.
