BURIAL anybody else here dig the enigmatic london hyperdub wunderkind "Burial"?
i first heard from Burial a few weeks ago when Thom Yorke's remix EP's for the Eraser album were released on boomkat.com and amongst them was the Burial remix for 'and it rained all night'. i loved that mix so much that i looked into Burial and found that he's released 2 albums 2 date "burial" and "untrue", both of which are just stellar. 'burial' is rather diverse and sounds like nothing else out there. it's just a league of it's own. and 'untrue' is like one long, dark, bleak and desparing journey 2 the end of the night with each song developing on the previous one. the woodblock percussion beats are interstellar. especially on the 1st track of "untrue" tripple wow. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

i've posted a couple things about Burial on this site with n response.
yeah, untrue hasn't left my playlist since its release. Burial's first self titled release is pretty heavy too, acutally it's heavier than the latest release, though, i dig the lastest one more.

the "official" story is that apart from a few family members only 5 people know who burial actually is. i wouldn't be surprised if he's someone who's already well known, doing this as a sideline. wouldn't it be a hoot if it turned out burial was a 70 yr old lady from essex sampling her grandsons records and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Maybe Beyonce or Timberlake.

Maybe Beyonce or Timberlake. lol @ beyonce i heard some elements of roni size and goldie in there but i think both of those are so damn smug they'd come out to say they were it when the first album became album of the year all over the place. so it must be someone who's quite humble i guess. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

'Untrue' gave me the creeps the 1st time I heard it. It was my Dad who stumbled across him/her/it after reading an article on Burial in a magazine. Although there is not one stand out track on the album as a collective it's fascinating. A great soundtrack to travelling on the tube at night in London. There's Joy In Expatriation.
