Carey Supports Obama

In an exclusive interview, which airs Monday on Yo on E! satellite radio show on Sirius Satellite Radio, the Daydream diva dished to host Michael Yo about everything from her faith in God and the possibility of one day having a child to Britney Spears' meltdown and, yes, even backing Barack Obama for president of the United States.

While plugging her upcoming album, E=MC², the 38-year-old Carey reflected on her personal life and her future now that she's dating record exec Mark Sudack.

For now, that doesn't appear to include babies, though the singer didn't rule out the possibility.

"Obviously having a kid is a commitment for life," she told Yo. "I really would have to be very, very positive that I was in a place where I could completely focus and put everything into the job of being someone's mommy cause it's hard enough to have a puppy."

When asked about a deadline for kids, Carey was philosophical.

"To me whatever is meant to be is meant to be. Whatever is in God's plan is going to happen," said the songstress.

On life after the bomb that was 2001's Glitter album and movie and her subsequent comeback, Carey pointed to her faith as a source of strength.

"You know what, I never lost my faith in God and that's the main thing," she noted. "For me it's about my personal relationship with God and just feeling centered and just not letting anything really penetrate that. That's something that's sacred for me that I have for myself no matter what."

Considering the personal crisis Carey faced in the wake of Glitter's failure when she checked herself into a hospital to be treated for an emotional and physical breakdown, Yo also got her take on the Britster's current travails and whether or not the pop tart can recover (typically her answer was all about Maria).

Commented the singer: "I think anybody who loves music and is committed to the game can do whatever. I never count people out, that's just not in my nature but that is a part of human nature, people like to do that but with me especially with making this new record, its all about the music."

Carey also laughed off concerns about what the public might think about her from reading the very same gossip zines that are making a bundle reporting on Spears' struggles.

"If people ever said things that are not in my character like doing serious drugs or anything of that nature that's just not me and that's never been me and it never will be," she said. "Things like, 'oh she was going to commit suicide'--that's never ever, nobody could get me to that point because I have too much respect for God and for life. One of the rumors I just heard about was that $150,000 in plastic surgery. What in the ham sandwich do they think I did? It's very annoying."

The subject eventually switched to politics, something Carey confessed isn't exactly her strong suit.

"Are you watching the debates?" asked Yo.

"Clearly I'm no political analyst. We all know that my album is called E=MC² but I'm not exactly friggin Einstein," joked the "Love Takes Time" singer. "So basically I like to leave that to people who know what they are talking about, but I am very much more focused on this moment in our history."

When Yo pressed Carey on whether or not she had settled on a presidential candidate, he eventually had to drag it out of her.

"Have you picked anyone?" queried Yo.

"Yes, clearly," she answered.

"Can you say?"

"That's personal but it's pretty obvious," the entertainer replied.

"Come on Mariah, 'Yes we can' Mr. Barack Obama?'

Laughing, Carey came clean: "Yes we can!"

E=MC² is scheduled to hit stores on April 15. The first single, "Touch My Body," was streamed digitally to radio stations on Feb. 12 and hard copies went out a week later.

I´ve just watched her new video and it´s so stupid. It´s like an 16 year old trying to be sexy...looks very immature to me. IF it looked like Madonna´s "Justify my love", I´d probably liked it more.

It's supposed to be a funny video not borderline porn like Justify My Love. And, what good would a video like that be w/ lyrics like Touch My Body's?

I don´t know. lol But I just don´t like this one.
"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

I don't know why people were saying Janet was making excuses. Most Janet fans knew about Tennessee since some time in 2005

so one of the songs is the one used in the M commercial!

ps. someone translated this from french, so expects typos.

French DJ from Ado FM reviews E=MC²

12 tracks from the album were presented:

1)Loving You Long Time :
We were told that the track was not the final mix yet. The track is really good, it's a midtempo with old school influences. A nice use of strings (violins) and a very catchy chorus. To me this track is nothing like the ones on the last album.

2)Touch My Body :
You already this one, you discovered it on Ado a few weeks ago. Even if the track has made the best start of Mimi in the US since 1997, a smash hit for a track which is for me not the best of the album.

3)That Chick :
'Ooh We eeh', remember these lyrics, they are really repetitive in this track produced by Stargate. The track is really fresh and brings positive vibes.

4)For the record :
I was plaisantly surprised while discovering this track, 'cause the instrumental is the one we can hear in Mariah's commercial for her fragrance "M". Produced by Bryan Michael Cox, it's a future hit.

5)Migrate :
This track, produced by Danja, is really Hip-Hop with a heavy beat. T-Pain really adds his touch to the track and lends his vocoder to Mariah who uses it perfectly when she says "Migrate". It sounds a lil' "Buy You a drank" style, but more pushed. Be ready for this track made for the clubs and another potential single.

6)Side effects :
This one is also in mixing process (work in progress like they said). The track is Dirty South style and Young Jeezy is featured and gives the vibe of the track since the start with a "Yeahhhhh" which brings us in the mood. If I remember correctly, the chorus is very catchy "To walk away don 't regret it, but I still live with side effects". I didn't really like this title, but I think you need to listen several times.

7)Love Story :
Jermaine Dupri produced it and fans will like this track for sure as it's a Mimi track like the ones on her earlier albums. The slow music makes me think to the one in "Until The End Of Time" due to the fact of the great presence of a piano.

8)Cruise Control :
Another JD production in wich Mariah collaborates with Damian Marley and sings a few lines in Jamaïcan "pon de gals on the block" which didn't shoked me. It fitted well and it sounds original and surprising. She spells "C.R.U.I.S.E Control" in the chorus.

9)Thanks For Nothing :
Mimi's voice is great on this other JD production. It's Mariah who says JD's famous "So So Def". We hear keyboards "Always Be My Baby" style and Mariah sings "Oh Oh Oh Oh ", which we will remember easily. Another track like the ones on TEOM.

10)OOC :
Produced by Swizz Beats, this track is fresh, original and old school and the same time. It's a lil' nostalgic and it's nice to hear Mariah's voice on this kind of beat and especially when she says the famous "O.O.C." which means "Out Of Control". It's the first time I hear Mariah singing a sentence in French "Je ne sais pas mais c'est la vie" preceded by another one in Spanish, if I remember correctly. I love it!

11)Bye bye :
Produced by Stargate for a slow jam track it's way more smooth than "That Chick", it's a Mimi style which is close of "We Belong Together", the track is moving, it's about losing close ones. It sounds like a hit with a great final.

12)Last kiss :
Produced by JD, it's a classic midtempo.

Touch my body is doing better than I thought, The kids must like it.
Glad to see from the reviews that 'Touch' is not even the strongest record on the album..That Chick has strings! A dance track with strings!

Nothing. At this point, I don't think I'm going to buy the single. I'll just wait for the album unless it comes with remixes.

E=MC2 BET SPECIAL REVIEW

by member Rory of fomm

1. Mariah is HILARIOUS From the second she came out on stage, Mariah was crackin jokes. Before she came out she was teasin the audience with a few notes here and there, and when she finally came out and strarted "Migrate," she stopped early on and said "Hold up, stop! I'm sorry... but how in the Sam Hill am I supposed to do this without my sangers..." pointing out the fact that her backup singers were not yet on stage. Then, when they had to restart "Migrate" due to technical difficulties, Mariah goes, "My name is Mariah Carey, and I am a professional. I promise!" Also, during one of the songs she took off her sunglasses and handed them to a girl. She later explained the sunglasses were given to her personally by Roberto Cavali and that the girl better like them. When asked if she could give someone her ring, so responded, "I would, but, I'm not THAT crazy...". Mariah also does a phenomenal Russian accent, and was really lighthearted and funny through all the production and work.

2. Mariah sounded BETTER THAN SHE HAS IN SOME TIME Mariah told the crowd she had a cold, and even started coughing at the end of "We Belong Together," yet somehow sounded INCREDIBLE. We all know the Mimi Era live performences were not her best, nor was the Mimi Tour for that matter, but Mariah not only belted the sh*t out of it when she had to, but it seemed a lot more effortless and easy for her. Her voice sounded extremely clear and strong. Best since the Charmbracelet Tour.

3. Any of the new songs could be Number Ones The songs are extremely catchy, but very original and refreshing. Migrate and That Chick were defintiely my two favorites.

4. Mariah looked INCREDIBLE That body is looking toned and sexy, and her ass and thighs are astonishing. It's funny how much more comfortable she is on stage when she's in great shape, because she wasn't doing any of those awkward poses to look slim, she was just having a great time and it looked so natural.

Set List:

1. MIGRATE (featuring T-Pain) This song is THE HEAT. Wow, Mariah has never done a song with a hiphop beat this hot, and she rides it confidently and perfectly. The song starts off with the trademark highnotes, and launches into a hard beat and the sings over. The song is extremely melodic, and by far one of her best uptempos in some time. T-Pain came out as a surprise guest and tore it up. This will be a single very soon.

2. TOUCH MY BODY This was Mariah's first time performing "Touch My Body," and she did a great job. She really seemed amused by the audience's love of the "I will hunt you down" line. Then, at the end MARIAH GOT DOWNNNN and did a funny little dance with two of the dancers. You'll have to see it to understand but it's great.

3. SHAKE IT OFF One of two "oldies" from the Mimi album, Mariah did well but this song really isn't that fascinating live. The crowd wasn't as into it, but it was performed very well.

4. LOVE STORY This song starts off with SADE (Rachel's daughter) and her two little friends singing backup on stage. The song is in the vein of We Belong Together and Don't Forget About Us in the sense that it's a ballad with a strong beat, but other than that it stands on its own. Mariah describes a love story and mentions how it's not like in the movies or "Casablanca" and there's some FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC belting at the end that sounds great. My least favorite of the three, but a GREAT song and could definitley be a single later on.

5. THAT CHICK This song is BANGIN. Much like Migrate, this is one of the best uptempos Mariah has ever done. The song has been described as disco, and it really really is. They even had disco balls on the screen behind her while she sang it. The song is extremely catchy, she talks about having different flavors like icecream, and does indeed sound a lot like Ne-Yo's "Because of You". Absoultely has to be a single.

6. WE BELONG TOGETHER Even though we've seen a million WBT performences, I really enjoyed this one because Mariah really seemed to enjoy it. During the belting she was flailing her arms around old-school style, which was great. Like I said before, she started coughing right after the final note, but other than that she sounded great.

show airs April 16

Sounds great, well, at least how she will look. Musically i cant imagine "that chick" being DISCO, just from the fact that someone said Ne-yo was disco, they obviously didnt live the disco era to know what DISCO is. Im also guessing Mariah will over-dub the shit out of this show, she did it with her live dvd, but i hope she gets it to match up, parts of her dvd, look like she is pulling a milli vanilli and not even mouthing the right words.
