Thank you. Is it a crime for Mariah to put out another funny and sexy video? Its not like she's Joni fuckin' Mitchell. Does EVERY clip have to be groundbreaking? Some of her work ranks up with my favorites, and some I find cringeworthy. Whatever. I doubt she's taking any of it too seriously. I'm just grateful for any female artist that continues to write and produce her own music.

exactly. it's light hearted, it's campy, and it's fun. which goes very well with the sweet production of the song.

and i've got to say Jack McBrayer added SO MUCH to this video, he's dead funny.

You know I never get to watch 30 Rock but I have an episode saved and it's the one where Jack's character has a poker showdown with Alec Baldwin. I thought he was very funny. I just watched it a few days ago and now he's in the video so I can make the connection.

The video is funny and shows her sense of humour which is going to be the tone for the rest of the record, very un-serious and party like and laid back. Im just not really feeling the song and havent been, it just doesnt grow on me and i think it just stems from the production, the problem with most RB production of today is that its very forgettable.

Agree... What I wouldn't give to hear live instruments return to RnB music.

I love that episode! Jack can't figure out Kenneth's 'tell' because he's a "blank slate." And I love it when Tracy asks Jack to tell him what's type of hand he has and Jack says, "Well two of your cards are backwards."

I LOVE "30 Rock"!

Mariah In New Lee Daniels Film

"Push"

This is the first confirmation for Mariah's appearance in the Lee Daniels' film Push. The film is based on a best-selling novel by author Sapphire and stars Lenny Kravitz, Paula Patton and Mo'Nique. The following synopsis is taken from IMDB:

Claireece Precious Jones endures unimaginable hardships in her young life. Abused by her mother, raped by her father, she grows up poor, angry, illiterate, fat, unloved and generally unnoticed. So what better way to learn about her than through her own, halting dialect.

If Mariah's in this Daniels must have been pleased with her in Tennessee. I remember when this book came out. I never read it but it was controversial because of the language and depiction stereotypes I think. Talk about gritty. I never imagined it would make it to the big screen.

I think I'm going to try and get a pass for the Tribeca Film Festival this year.

Mariah to Appear on "Idol Gives Back"

On tonight's episode of "American Idol" (Fox), host Ryan Seacrest announced that Mariah will be one of the participants in this year's "Idol Gives Back" TV Special. Last year's special telecast raised over $70 million that went towards helping children and young people in extreme poverty in the U.S. and in Africa.

This year's show will be broadcast live on April 9, 2008.

So Push is already filmed or at least her portion is? I like her and AJ together. They're very comfortable around each other.

Rolling Stone Previews E=MC²

At a private listening party hosted by L.A. Reid, Rolling Stone recently got a chance to check out Mariah Carey's eleventh studio album, the follow-up to 2005's blockbuster The Emancipation of Mimi. Due April 15th, E=MC² jumps from hip-hop-flavored jams like the Young Jeezy-assisted "Side Effects" to bright, mega-catchy stuff like the disco "That Chick." The album also tosses in a couple of big-voiced ballads ("Bye Bye," a piano-based song about losing someone close to you) and beats from big-name producers like Jermaine Dupri, Will.i.am and Scott Storch. In a notable departure from earlier albums, Carey sings in a lighter, less showy voice than we're used to on a few tracks, including lead single "Touch My Body." A horny jam about a "secret rendezvous," the single was co-written by Tricky Stewart and The-Dream, the team that co-penned Rihanna's "Umbrella."

Nate "Danja" Hills, who produced "Migrate" (which features T-Pain), tells RS that on that track Carey "definitely opens up towards the end of the song and shows what Mariah does. It's a different array of her vocal range on this record, but she keeps it pretty mid-range and then toward the end she lets loose. She was singing in the room, and I was just blown away by how good it sounded without her even trying. It's incredible, I see why she is who she is."

I´ve just watched her new video and it´s so stupid. It´s like an 16 year old trying to be sexy...looks very immature to me. IF it looked like Madonna´s "Justify my love", I´d probably liked it more.

It's supposed to be a funny video not borderline porn like Justify My Love. And, what good would a video like that be w/ lyrics like Touch My Body's?
