Clooney's hair bugged the hell out of me though. Didn't he have a mullet? By the way, completely unrelated, but that's Robin Thicke's mama who sings the theme song to Facts of Life. She used to sing on my mom's favorite soap "Days of Our Lives", too. [Edited 1/17/08 13:12pm]

You decide!!! [Edited 1/16/08 15:04pm] Hard question! They both had some of the more topical and serious storylines. Jo always killed me when she would break down and show her sensitive side...Nancy McKeon was such a great actress (probably still is). But I'm biased as she was probably my favorite character throughout. (as well as Natalie...the lightning bolt cap...classic!) Tootie was also great...but her squeaky voice annoyed me...she did have the great one liners. My favorite early FOL ep is when Blair and Sue Ann (early season when there were more girls) joined a group of girls who smoked pot and Tootie and Natalie bought bongs thinking they were for putting jelly beans in!!!! Great show. I have the first 3 seasons on DVD. GREATEST LINE OF ALL TIME... NATALIE - 'From now on it's goodbye Natalie...and hello Hot Lips!!!' peace That was a carazy episode with a young Natalie pretending she was easy....she did end up being the only one to lose her virginity on the show (or the first...the others might have married..I forget). I wish the DVDs would keep coming out but I just heard some interest in releasing another 80s classic, "Mr. Belevadere" but from what I heard the company that showed interest in buying rights said the market isn't great for selling these sitcom sets...might be why the releases have slowed down or stopped altogether.

I just watche this shizz - Tootie was a hot mess! Favorite line:
Mrs. Garrett (to the security guard backstage after she wades through a sea of fans): "Excuse me! Excuse me! Have you by any chance seen a young black girl?" Pamela Springsteen - Bruce's sister - was also in this. Better known to me as the killer-tranny in Sleepaway Camp II and III. [Edited 1/19/08 9:08am]

I remember this episode, but I think Tootie's obsession for Michael would have been more believable, but he probably declined. [Edited 1/19/08 21:02pm]

Tootie says right in the episode that her love for Jermaine is derived from growing up with the Jackson 5. And fuck it, Jermaine Jackson was popular in the early 80s!!

That's true. Jermaine had heartbreaker status in Jackson 5, while Mike-uh was in underoos . And even though it was for a short periodof time, he did have a group of hits on r&b radio in the 80's that renewed his popularity with the young girls of the time. I remember very clearly the "swoon" effect being cemented with songs such as "You Like Me, Don't You?"...that s*it was LUSH . But alas...that was a looooong time ago.The appeal has long since waned ... sadly the only thing Jermaine reminds me of nowadays is a Madam Trousseaux wax mannequin dipped in DAX hair pommade [Edited 1/19/08 23:21pm]
