Michael to work with Quincy again? Carlos Santana to work with Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones
Legendary Guitarist Carlos Santana recently appeared Thursday night on Mas Vale Tarde con Alex Cambert on the Telemundo Television channel along with his son Salvador Santana whose also a musician like his pops, were interviewed on the show. Carlos Santana rarely conducts TV interviews so I definitely had to watch. I didn’t know he worked with Bob Dylan and Bob Marley, which he said that he smoked and got high with them a few times back in the day when they made music together. Carlos also spoke about how his father taught him from a young age to play the violin; his father showed him an example about how powerful music is by pointing at a tree where a bird was singing and his father played from his violin some music notes back and fore with the bird he went. He then realized his true passion was playing the guitar to reach the masses through his music. But what surprised me from the interview is when he spoke about working again with Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones. I never thought Michael and Quincy were going to make up and do another album together again but Carlos said this on national TV. I’ll believe it when the album actually drops. –Edwin Diaz, So Hood Magazine, SoHood.com

That would be almost as big as Tommy Lee working with Pamela Anderson again!

But what about 2 things? 1) Michael's CRAZY ego 2)Q saying he was too busy for Michael these days or whatever. Dick. Too busy for the man whose voice MADE your career as a popular music producer. Would Thriller have been as big if Lionel Richie had recorded it? NO. Everyone is always talking about what Michael owes Q, but what about, Q owes Michael. Yes it is true. MJ Fan 1992-Forever

Michael should scrap the songs with Ne-Yo and will.i.am and just do an entire new album produced by Quincy Jones.Maybe they can bring back the old magic.

And bring in Rod Temperton again if he ain't retired yet and the real Dream Team will be together minus Bruce Swedien, lol.

I would love for Mike & Rod Temperton to work together again. I mean it's probably never gonna happen lol but still it would be great if it did. "And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ
"Baby, that was much too fast"...Goodnight dear sweet Prince. I'll love you always

If this were 1987, I'd be excited. Given that it's not I'm just about this. Whatever the case, if Mike puts together a good album I'll give it a listen.

1 + 1 = 2
Quincy + MJ = magic. Even if the two only did a couple of songs, it would still be fantastic.

Swedien aint doing shit these days. I don't think any of them dream team are doing shit these days. I'm sure they can take a couple of months off to make a masterpiece.

even though I respect Q for all his producing, I used to laugh at the idea of them reuniting through music, but now I think it just may be a good idea. In my opinion, michael is okay without quincy too, but capitalizing on what people say about michael and quincy together might be a good idea, and I'm sure the music will be much more mature and sound nothing like OTW, Thriller and Bad, since Q is a versatile producer anyways, and that's just what the public wants anyway. They all want another billie jean or don't stop till you get enough or whatever, so just work with quincy already, tour and then retire if he wants to.

Is Swedien retired by now?
But then again, his work on "Invincible" wasn't that terribly good anymore. Different eras for different personalities.

But they're all getting older (not saying that Jackson would be too old himself). It would be like the movie with Clint Eastwood and his friends being shot into space. I'm not saying that musicians and engineers couldn't pull off such things while still being in their seventies (altough I necessarily wouldn't trust an aging engineer for a really big recording project), but as far as for Jackson's projects go - a decent mix of people of his own age, a few younger ones and a few that are older than him would be still the best option.

And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

It does seem odd that there is no real "news" on this album, other than Carlos' comment. It would seem that a Quincy Jones/Michael Jackson reunion would make major headlines in the pop music world.

There just seems to be an endless stream of r'n'b hacks claiming to be working with him and vaguely saying stuff like 'Maybe we might do something/possibly get together' etc. Anyway, after Thriller 25 comes out he'll probably need a rest...

No, really ! He says in his personal message to fans in the Thriller 25 package that "i've worked very hard to make this a memorable CD". Yes, it must be really exhausting sitting around watching various r'n'b chimps ruin your back catalogue.
