I wanted to do it but it was the same show I saw a year ago with Gloria Gaynor ("I Will Survive", "Everybody Wanna Party Down Tonight") and Gino Vanneli ("I Just Wanna Stop") were on. That's the best I can do. I don't know where The Audience and (Vain) Andy was, lol.

They've been here every week. This is the first week they've not - tA's busy and VainAndy's stalking Michael Henderson.

The last "new" BOST was aired on December 29. The music guests were Cheryl Lynn (Got To Be Real and Star Love) and Joe Simon (Love Vibration and one more I cannot recall). TV Guide has "reruns" listed for the next few weeks.
I read on yahoo's Soul Train message board that Tribune Distribution is no more and that this is possibly the end of ST. Let's pray that Don can either find another distributor or come up with another venu to show us these classic episodes. [Edited 1/7/08 10:25am] **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

wow yall are just great. well I hope that don finds another disributer also. You are right timmy 44. that was a re-run. In fact, it is a re-run of a re-run of an episode I saw a few months back I believe and I have been missing the show. Heck bringing back the old shows I would think would help ratings.Just put better episodes on the air. I hate I missed the Cheryl lynn episode. and I did notice that one thread talked about it. But I don't know it seems that I haven't seen a thread about soul train lately. or conversations about the show.
thanks da prettyman nipsy

I saw Soul Train this past Saturday and it was a repeat of one of my favorite episodes, featuring Gloria Gaynor and Gino Vanelli This episode originally aired in March 1979,at the height of the disco era.
More,please! | |

He put his hand around her waist and said, "That's a whole lot of woman!" You could see she was a bit uncomfortable and brushed it off with some comment about how she wasn't happy about her weight.

Yeah, that was pretty rude. Don was pretty flirtatious with a lot of the women. Anyone remember the episode with High Inergy? **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Man' when I was just chillin' in the club where I dj'd, before we'd open, I would play songs like this... just imagine hearing this song on a bad as sound system.. cranked up.

I love the disco era! yeah I love the disco era too. some songs we used to dance to as kids I have always wanted to see the dancers dance to them on the show. shake your body down is one of them. I hope they throw some barkays, isleys, maze the whitehead brothers, the jones girls etc. and betty wright in there somewhere before the show goes off the air. the bands they have been showing weren't even performing hits that I really jammed. and they still had shows where they did do some good songs. nipsy

I was going to start a thread on the Cheryl Lynn episode but my computer at home finally died on me forever and I only have access to a computer at work (when the boss is away). Even my computer at work is having problems and, as of yesterday, is on it's last leg. I'm typing this post from a co-worker's computer who is out sick today. They at least need to air another four episodes so I can have an even set of 50 DVDs. Andy is a four letter word.

I enjoyed the living hell out of it from start to finish. They also played Amii Stewart "Knock On Wood", Edwin Starr "Contact", and Peaches and Herb "Shake Your Groove Thing". Cheryl Lynn also turned it out with "Got To Be Real" and "Star Love". I recorded it from my local channel that Friday night before at 3 a.m.....at least Mississippi gets some things first before everyone else. It's a good thing I did because they didn't air it on WGN the next day in the normal time slot. . . [Edited 1/9/08 14:47pm] Andy is a four letter word.

I don't get the logic behind repeating an episode of "Best Of" that they showed already, especially when they have sooooo many to choose from.

I just went to tvguide.com to find out what episode they will show on 12/19 and its a rerun of the Minnie Ripperton Tribute episode. I have a hard time watching that episode because it makes me cry.

If they are going to show a rerun, I wish they would show the War episode. It was one of the first few episodes when they started showing the old ones. I missed it because I was still looking for the channel that "Soul Train" came on (I had written the current "Soul Train" off my list in the early 1990s). Andy is a four letter word.

did anyone watch Saturday's episode (January 12)? I think it was a re-run of the Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr. episode from 1978.
