a lot of the arrangement choices seem to be from "Strawberry Fields Forever", but try and write a song like The Beatles and it's not as easy as they made it seem on "Sowing the Seeds..".

Whole album seems overproduced to hell, but Iam all for it LOL.


Its ripping the beatles off I guess. "Iam the walrus" on the veres being the obvious nod. Pastiche to the beatles perhaps? The solo is nothing like them though, so hodge-podge may be a better word.

Nothing special, just a pastiche of I Am The Walrus. Better tributes were made by The Rutles - Piggy In The Middle and The Dukes Of Stratosphear (XTC) - The Mole From The Ministry. At least they didn't have a sly dig at Paul Weller in the lyrics...

this song takes me back to college days...the title song and "woman in chains" were my faves from that album.

It's a perfect song IMO -- easily one of their all-time best. I love T4F!

Yes, that's true. And I might add, that "comeback" album is quite good. It's kinda a continuation of Sowing the Seeds really. I think Roland even said if Sowing was John Lennon, then Everybody Loves A Happy Ending is Paul McCartney. It's a great album with great songs/melodies/textures etc. Just don't expect an 80's new wave retro sound and you just might dig it.

I dig this song , but I like the album "Songs From The Big Chair" esp. the song "Head Over Heels".

They turned into a bad cover band on this album.
