I have to admit that they were a pretty good band inside the grunge/modern-punk genre (though Cobain's lyrics are very overrated); Smells like teen spirit is a timeless single, though, and Nevermind, In Utero and Unplugged are solid albums
Obviously, the main problem with this band was Cobain's annoying arrogance mad

I'll readily say Nirvana is overrated, but I like the band well enough. However, I'd rather listen to STP, a ridiculously underrated band in the same genre.

I heard it all before. They were awesome live and I've never had a better feeling from an album than the first time I heard Nevermind. That will remain no matter how overrated anyone thinks they are.

I could see why someone might think they're overrated and maybe I agree a little bit. Smells Like Teen Spirit is definitely a fine example of that. But MOST overrated? Now that I would have to disagree with. I do love Nirvana though.

Had Kurt and the band possibly went on, it wouldn't be the case. But they gave us some great songs and at that time right after his death were treated like the band that brought good rock back onto the charts...Where the Pixies better and the real architects, yes. I think history will put Nirvana and the Pixies in their proper place. What history will say about the last few years, I have no idea unless they say the day the music died is when Soulja Boy Tell'em had a hit single!

They were terrific. Kobain had a surreal ability to touch on poignant themes with succinct lines like, "It's okay to eat fish because they don't have any feelings."

Nirvana wrote ridiculously catchy songs with amazing hooks, and the beauty of Kobain's lyricism is in its deceptive simplicity.

Great band; not overrated at all. They encapsulated the feelings of a cynical generation and influenced a million knock-off bands.

By the time I checked 'em out Cobain had blown his brains out, but it was cats like Herbie Hancock, Brad Mehldau and some others who did jazz versions of some of their songs and it all sounded pretty cool.

No hatin' from me cuz I'd have probably been a big fan.

Cobain's death certificate concluded Cobain's death was a result of a "self-inflicted shotgun wound to the head."

Yeah, and there is a ton of evidence that strongly suggests it was not a suicide.

It's not a conspiracy theory to look at evidence that points to a likely scenario of homicide.

This is interesting. I have never heard of this before.

1) Who do you think killed Cobain if in fact he was killed?

2) What are some of the reasons suggested for the supposed murder?

3) Why is the muder theory not more well-known or is it just me that is out of the loop on all of this?

Thank you.

IMO Nirvana was just terrible, The absolute WORST of the major seattle bands of the day. Too weepy. Shitty musicianship. They were a notch below average in thier own right, but stand them up against Soundgarden, or Temple of the Dog, or even Mother Love Bone, Nirvana was pure shit.
Maybe we can go to the movies and cry together

I like Nirvana - my favourite rock group.
"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really donĀ“t like the idea that he could have it all."

Very much overrated - Especially in the way they are considered to have been some kind of magical cleansing agent that came along and washed all the bad music away and left us with a nice shiny new start. What BS!

I am glad that the terrible hair metal bands of the 80's went out of fashion, but that was always going to happen. I don't think Nirvana can take the credit.

However, like most overrated bands, the truth underneath it all is that they were a pretty good group. Spoils it for me that they are held in such reverence, cos I just can't see it myself and it makes me think "is this it?!" when I listen to them instead of just enjoying it for what it is.
This is not an exit
