Some of my favourite albums are live albums.
If a band can't produce the goods live, then they shouldn't really be in the business at all. Here are some faves: Most of my DVD collection is live concerts, with maybe two or three films and a small handful of TV series. I LOVE live music, that's what it is all about, no?! This is not an exit

This is one of the few (15-20) live albums that I have Not only cos I'm a Bowie fanatic, but also cos it actually offers someone new: new or improved versions of the Low-Heroes tracks and a Enoish treatment for early Bowie's classics, like Star or Fame... [Edited 1/7/08 12:59pm]

I hate Sade's live album cause I can hear the stupid audience better than her!
It ruins the whole mood If you will, so will I

I love the live albums which offer something truly special, like a revamped-larger than life sound for a group/artist (JB at the Apollo, Prince at Dortmund 88, etc.), or when they have been recorded during a very special event (Woodstock, Johnny Cash at Folsom, etc.), but the 90% of the live albums are lame, unispired, offering boring versions of old classics... Nelly Furtados is nice..she does a cover of Heart Of GLass on Glow...changes the whole mood and music of Showtime and adds extra 80's synths and breaks on DO It. Worth the purchase Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.

that's because it virtually is, ha...but that's why i love 'stage'! it's the most synthetic, non-live "live" album i think i've ever heard, and it just adds to the mood of the music and of bowie at that time.

Prince, as many people out there would surely agree, is yet to give us the definitive (official) live release that we all know he has sitting in the vaults. This is not an exit

Joe Cocker - Mad Dogs & Englishmen[/quote] Every few years the local classic rock station plays this record in its entirety. It blows me away every time I hear it - excellent record

The best live album that I've heard to date is: INXS - Live Baby Live.
A lot of artist suck in a live setting, but Michael Hutchence nailed it. Remember when u told me that love was touching souls?
Well, surely u touched mine. O{+>
