Recommend a Hendrix album for a beginner...

I have Experience Hendrix... and dig most of the tracks. I want to start getting his albums and I was thinking of starting with the debut...

What's considered his best work?

If you only buy one studio album by Hendrix then it's gotta be Electric Ladyland

As much as I love Axis...I would not recommend it for beginngers. This is the one that took me the longest to get into. Are You Experienced? is definitely the one to get for a Hendrix-newbie.

Agreed get Are You Experienced. The others are great but this really is where you should be at first. You will probably recognise half the songs on there!

That's where I started, and I'm glad I did. Loved it instantly. Axis took me a while a get into, but I love it now. Electric Ladyland can get a little too self indulgent IMO. There is a lot of great stuff on there though.

I'd say go in logical sequence, so it's
, then branch out to a live show and cop the other studio LPs
