Can you guys list some great jazz/soul albums. Thanks, greatly appreciated.

I only have Hail Ceasar as a vinyl, somewhere. I also have his "Another Life" which is a cool attempt to disco.

I can't stress the importance of this album enough. Its right up there James Brown's Live @ The Apollo album and Donny Hathaway's Live album.

Also, try to track down "The Ultimate Collection" by Nina Simone.

Aretha looks good in that young photo!

All these albums do have vocals on them, right? Because I was looking for artists that sing jazz-influenced soul/R&B moreso than pure instrumental.

Thats why I chose from both - instrumentals and vocal. See, what you like from each and start there.
