I'm really bad at stuff like this. First, it's hard for me to even list favorites, because that changes from day to day. Second, whenever I try to come up with a list like this, my mind draws a blank, and I can't even remember one song.

The biggest snub on VH1's list was 'Tears In Heaven' by Eric Clapton. That is a top ten song of the 90's easy and it wasn't even on the damn list!

I either agree with these or see how you could make a case for each of them.

Now . . .

Humpty Dance-Heavy D

REALLY? You REALLY think Heavy D did this track?

whoops I meant digital underground mad it's just that whenever I think of that song, I think of heavy d bouncing around first so that song is from 1989 then? I thought it was 1990 or 91, guess not.

Sure it is. "Doowutchyalike" dropped in 1989, but the Sex Packets album and "The Humpty Dance" single weren't released until 1990 IIRC.

That 12" link is flat-out wrong. That 1/1/89 date was made up by someone. "Doowutchyalike" was the album's first single and it wasn't released until later in 1989. This link on All Music Guide makes a lot more sense:

http://wc07.allmusic.com/...fwxxqsldae

It says the single dropped on December 20, 1989.

At any rate, I still say it's a 1990 song. It reached the R&B top 40 on March 10, 1990 and peaked at #7 on April 28, 1990. Virtually all (if not all) of its radio, Rap City, and Yo! MTV Raps spins were in 1990.

I see your point, but if the song was on the album, and the album dropped in '89, then the song is technically from 1989. 1990 wouldn't be 1990 without that track, so that's why I didn't go there on my initial post.

Merry Christmas.

Well, the album dropped in 1990, so it's all good.

I see your point, but if the song was on the album, and the album dropped in '89, then the song is technically from 1989. 1990 wouldn't be 1990 without that track, so that's why I didn't go there on my initial post.

Merry Christmas.

Well, the album dropped in 1990, so it's all good.

Merry Christmas to you, too!

"Sholl was."

Hope you had a good one!
