I've heard a lot about this album, but I doubt it would crack my top 10. This year has been sooooo solid!

I love it. Not sure it's my absolute favorite, but I'd probably say it's the best.

I'd go with Year Zero as the best album of 2007.

I saw Me'Shell at the jazz festival in Montreal this past summer and it was incredible. She performed mostly material from the new album and it blew me away... eek

The cover art and song titles are harder to read than the music is to listen to.

Well, I haven't been this impressed (laughing and cursing at the sheer brilliance of the recording) since probably Björk's Vespertine.

I know I’m late as hell but I’m finally listening to it in its entirety and I love love love it. I feel like it is filling a musical hole in my soul. So quiet, smooth, groovy, rhythmic and sexy. Well worth the wait. Merry Christmas to me, dammit!

I don't get all my Cds for the year until the gift certificates come rolling in and then hit up the year-end clearances. MeShell is definitely "on the list", but I'm at a complete loss as what was "sooooo solid" about the year. I bought mostly reissues (Sly, Betty & Miles Davis). Maybe you could elaborate? I just need titles & artist. Exposition isn't necessary.
