There are also basically no overnight spins, which is great (that's when no one is listening, and when Call On Me used to log a lot of its spins before it flopped at pop, peaking around #35 or #36 I think).

Funny you should mention overnight spins. I experimented with my Sirius Stiletto to just record an hour and a half of the Hot Jamz station, which plays new hit R&B/hip-hop (although a few oldies like Ja Rule/Ashanti crept in). I never really listen to that station but I figured if anyone would play Janet's new one....and of course there it was. So now I sort of have it on my MP3 player (I more than fully intend to buy the CD if not the digital download of "Feedback" when they come out). I'm digging it a lot and I think the station is embracing it, too.

Let's go back to the point :

In 2004 she released All Nite (Don't Stop) a terrible "I'm sexy, I'm hot" anthem : it did flop BIG TIME

In 2006 she released another "I'm sexy, i'm hot" anthem with So Excited : it did flop BIG TIME

And Now in 2008 what does she do ? she releases AGAIN another "I'm sexy I'm hot" anthem with FeedBack

Not only this is a bad song, but also she recycles the same ol concept

Janet needs to get rid of that sex image, and do something NEW AND DIFFERENT... WITH A MORE MORE MATURE SOUND... A NEWCCE

There's no concept behind Janet music anymore...

But again she prefers to capitalize on her sex image that clearly doesn't work ...

People are tired of that...

When she made that superbowl performance it backfired at her BIG TIME, but she didn't learn from it AT ALL...

SHE tries to HARD to sell a sex image that people don't like anymore... She is NOT A SEX SYMBOL ANYMORE...

After the Superbowl incident, after the Damito Jo flop , after the 20 YO failure ... It was clear that she needed something new...

She had to come back with somethin BIG... A BIG HIT... A GREAT SONG that could dominate the charts for several weeks and create excitment among fans...

But she prefers to release another generic sex anthem

From that point of view I think she is done...

Those songs flopped for various reasons, but not because they were sex-themed.

If All Nite (Don't Stop) had been released before the Superbowl, it would have been a big hit.

Did you hear what people said in 2004 ? Do you know what people said in 2006 ?

Have you read all the critics about her ?

People are TIRED of that sex image she has recycled again and again, nobody cares about the sex life of a 42 year old woman ...

Do you remember all these OVER sexy poses in every magazine in 2006 ? She was absolutely everywhere selling her body.. Vibe, Giant Magazine, Ebony, FHM, Etc

And it didn't WORK... PEOPLE REJECTED IT

The public say NO

Nobody cares if she thinks she's still sexy...

Janet has overplayed that sex image since all for You, and it doesn't work anymore, she is TOO OLD for that

She used to be a sex symbol, when she was younger back in the 90's, but now she is WAY TOO OLD...

I repeat your Janet is OLD

It seems to me that she has nothing to say, so she decides to recycle the same sex image again

It won't work...

She tries to compete with the young girls like Ciara. Ciara can be her DAUGHTER, and she does everything Janet is doing ...

Janet clealry thinks she can compete with the young girls ... Which is DUMB AS FUCK

She has learned nothing from the failures of the past

She needed to change...

Honesty this is YOUR opinion.... I agree that janet should cover up and stop with that sex act.... but i dont' consider her That old.. Like you do...

HOw old are you....?????

and Janet in NO way is competing with ciara... They are completely different... ciara isn't even as big as janet... NO has she ever made a RHYTHM NATION... and i doubt ciara would ever be able... to... so DON"T compare her to that girl....

This is not my opinion, this is what everybody said, the music she's doin clearly targets the young generation, kids who are around 20...

She is 42 years old... Think about it, she has the age to be their mother...
She claims to be sexy but this is not sexy at all, a 42 year old woman acting like a 20 year ol girl...

She's aging

Even chris Rock made a joke about that a while ago...

Ciara is stealing Janet style, image, look, music, dance moves everything...

Ciara is doin exactly what made Janet famous...

It's obvious that Ciara is replacing her, but she is 20 years younger...

Young kids are more willin to support Ciara over Janet...

Janet needs to realize that she can't compete with the young girls, and she needs to stay away from the competion and do something different...

The Five Spot - Janet Jackson “Feedback” aka ‘the most successful leak ever!’

If you have Toya tell it, Janet Jackson’s latest single has been posted on 1.34 million blogs all across this round planet in a little over five hours time. I love Toya’s spot, but she’s a big fan of Janet Jackson, so she might be waving the flag a little high and hard..“Radio stations across the country has been swamped with hundreds of thousands of phone calls to play the song, making ‘Feedback’ the most successful debut leak in music history.

Major radio station websites has been stalled because traffic for the song spiked at nearly ninety per cent. It is also reported that no other leak has generated this much buzz and anticipation EVER! And the shocking thing about it is that the song hasn’t even been released yet. The song is a CERTIFIED hit already. Absolutely amazing! Go Janet!”

Janet needs to quit fuckin' around trying to compete with them youngins, and SHOCK me like she made the Velvet Rope, DAMMIT!

I don't want her to re-make the Velvet Rope mind you, I just want her to use the same approach 's all: except her growth and make some killer music that reflects it. Not this chickenheaded "got these ladies hatin'" bullshit. C'mon now, this shit is SO beneath her, man.

Oh yes, leave Smurf City alone when it comes to your music. Being good in bed don't make him good behind the recording booth hmph!

Nobody can bring that immmph outta her gut like Terry Lewis & Jimmy Jam did, they really complimented her talent. Its too fuckin' bad that she's drooling in the mouth for these younger crowd.

As a Janet fan, I will admit, 20YO was lackluster (I actually like DJ more), but she finally gave the booty bopping single I was looking for from her. Pop music is her element. Since when is 40 years old considered OLD?? I am almost there and I look and feel DAMN good. We int this age group are old enough to know better and young enough to still drop it like its hot. Go Janet.

I'm digging the song to death. It's not world's awayt from "So Excited" although unlike that song, it's exciting! It's got a nice funky groove to it and it's fun but I hope that she half the album isn't trying to make cookie cutter copies of this type of song the way "20 YO" did!

I would like an album that is more "Velvet Rope" than "20 Yo" because the fact is Janet is very capable of it and more. I think with an album title like "Displine", we'll get something interesting. I have high hopes.

Janet is OLD compared to Beyonce
Janet is OLD compared to Ciara
Janet is OLD compared to Rhianna
Janet is OLD compared to Amerie

The problem is, Janet absolutely tries to go after the young audience and wants to compete with all these young girls

It's pretty much a sign of desperation...

Janet hasn't been able to evolve musically since the superbowl fiasco...

The sex image worked well when she was in her twenties, but it doesn't work anymore now because she's TOO old ...

This is what happened with 20YO, the album flopped BIG time, her worst selling album since Dream Street...

She overplayed the sex image with all these magazine covers... And the public said NO

The So excited video was pathetic...

She has overplayed the sex card... She needs to change...

She's aging, she doesn't look like she used to... She is a mature woman now...

When you are unable to understand that you are done...

Didn't you say this before...and no offense, didn't people not care then either!

I don't think "20 YO" suffers that much from trying to be young ("Call On Me" isn't "nature" but I could imagine someone as old as Barbara Sterisand singing it!). It suffered from lack of inspirition. I'm not 100% sure if I heard most of it before I got it but I do remember listening to the first interlude where she basically said the album wasn't going to have a concept (the titles indicated that, too). I can't imagine after two albums that underperformed (to be kind), Superboob and the state of the world, that she will have nothing interesting to say at all.
