I'm digging the song to death. It's not world's awayt from "So Excited" although unlike that song, it's exciting! It's got a nice funky groove to it and it's fun but I hope that she half the album isn't trying to make cookie cutter copies of this type of song the way "20 YO" did! I would like an album that is more "Velvet Rope" than "20 Yo" because the fact is Janet is very capable of it and more. I think with an album title like "Displine", we'll get something interesting. I'm not 100% sure if I heard most of it before I got it but I do remember listening to the first interlude where she basically said the album wasn't going to have a concept (the titles indicated that, too). I can't imagine after two albums that underperformed (to be kind), Superboob and the state of the world, that she will have nothing interesting to say at all. | |
